Noah Cates broke his foot at the end of November and returned mid January, he’s starting to pickup his game again and has been on the 3rd line more recently in a defensive role with Ryan Poehling and Garnet Hathaway as his linemates.

His shifts per game has dropped in the last 3 games so a change in the lineup could be possible with Torts.

Noah had a really good season in 2022-23 with over 17 minutes average time on ice but got off track by the injury he sustained this season, plus his ice time has been cut down with the return of Couturier this season also the free agent signing of Poehling and Frost finally gaining a spot down the middle and it’s eroded Cates ice time down to that of a 3LW or 4C which is game is more suited too.

As for his value outside of the Flyers organization, it’s probably not much higher than that of a bottom 6 player or a lower round pick.

Cates is only 25 and has plenty of time for his game to return to its previous form of the 22-23 season.
