From the offers last night, I discovered that the players receive 5% in benefits?!?!? I assume most of that is pension. Per diems add up I guess.

Therefore, the average salary is $1.9M not $1.8M. Outrageous.

Not familiar with US system, but in Canada that type of thing is capped at a low amount for obvious reasons. If those players are paying that much in social security, they are going to be pissed when they're 65!

I think its more likely that they match pension fund contributions.
