you cant just declare an impasse you dumbass. the players have negotiated in good faith, and there is no way the league can get an impasse since the players accepted a cap.

I've watched interviews with 2 legal reps in the USA who say you are wrong. The NHL doesn't have to budge much if they have good financial reasons for their stance.

how were they???? they came down alot more than they had to....

end of story........ :teach:

You guys haven't been watching the sports news enough. On Sportsnet and on The Score, I saw them interview 2 legal reps in the USA that were experts on the topic. They both indicated that the NHL wouldn't have to budge much if they had good reasons for their stance. The NHL does have good reasons based on how much money it is losing.

Replacement players show up for training camp September 10-15th.

And I suppose that god told you this will happen. You hear it first here the NHL will not be grante an impass ruling period. And not in time for the 05/06 season because no matter what the labor says ( and it could take a year or more ) any thing they say will be appealed in court by the loser and that will take 5 to 6 years to hear that with still morew appeals. So come down off your management high horse and see how the real world works. :banghead:[/QUOTE]

I think your wrong here, the NHL isn't going to lose another season. If it means replacement players they are going to do everything they possibly can to make it happen.

Actually, genius, they can just declare an impasse. They could have done it three months ago, they could do it today.
The only question is whether the impasse declaration would be upheld by the NLRB when the PA files an unfair labor practice complaint.
You are 100% correct.

No you are incorrect. The NHL can declare an impasse anytime they want. Then PA has to prove that the NHL was negociated in bad faith . That could take some time during that time the NHL can open its door and expect that some big name players cross the line and then it would be just a matter of time before the pa accept to negociate a new cba with linkage and all the good stuff that comes along with it.
