Only way Karlsson goes to New Jersey is if Melnyk is hell-bent on Ryan being in the deal. There's just no way the Devils have the assets to swing this deal otherwise, imo.

Sub out Dzingel for Ryan in the OP and it's probably closer (maybe take Quenneville out in that case?)

To be quite honest the Devils aren't an attractive trading partner.

If McLeod, Quenville and Severson are the best they can offer, I'll pass. They are fine enough assests but its missing that one really strong asset.

While it's probably a certainty if Karlsson is moved it will be in a quality for quantity type of deal, you can sure as hell bet the best piece coming back is going to be a lot better than Damon F-ing Severson!
