7 goals and 23 points in 55 games. He's dealing with an issue of confidence. You can tell by how he hesitates to take open shots at times. An acquiring team could get a short-term burst like Carolina got last season. At his best, he's a worker bee type that can play up and down the lineup on either side on any type of line (speed and skill or forechecking) in any situation.

At $5.25 mil x ~2.25, it would most likely require taking back another undesirable contract. Defense is the preference, but forward could work as well. What's out there?

Would love to have him back but we already have too many wingers as is, no room for him.

It is concerning that he needs another change of scenery after just one full calendar year.

Can’t believe I’m suggesting this...but Zach Bogosian?

Or maybe Colin Miller?

Bogosian is done. Miller and Rodrigues for cap reasons? ERod has had the sort of advanced stats that seem like he'd be a fit for the Hurricanes, though they probably treat him as a rental rather than as a RFA given they would have to pay him $2M as a qualifier.

he hasn’t been THAT bad...

Lucic has 6 goals and 16 points in 55 games and hasn't really been as bad as he was in Edmonton. He's just overpaid which is why his money owing is a good thing, just bad cap hit, 7 less points and they're paid the same 5.25m/year

So what's the motivation for Flames fans to agree to that then?

And once you figure that out, do you see why Canes fans wouldn't want to do it?

he's struggling? how could this be possible when everyone said Carolina fleeced the wild in the deal and fenton was awful????????
Even a struggling Nino has more G-A-PTS (7-16-23) THIS year than Rask has the past 1.5 seasons (7-13-20)...and he was a HUGE part of our post-New Years push that got us into the playoffs. So yea, even if he's struggling, Fenton/Wild kinda got fleeced...
