Havent really seen him play. How does he compare to Quinn Hughes, makar, heiskanen when they were his age?? Is he close to that level??

I do think Lundkvist is one of the most underrated prospects in the world and closer to those prospects than people think, but there’s still a distinct gap. All those names were playing great NHL hockey at age 20.

Let’s just be happy NJ didn’t end up with any of those three. Or Pettersson for that matter...

But yeah, any of those could have gone #1 in a less deep draft. No disrespect to Nils, but just a different league entirely. It’s not often you see 21 year old dmen putting up a PPG in the playoffs

NJ was unlucky to have the #1 pick in that draft and Philly even less so to have the #2 pick. Those were solid choices at the time.

No.

Heiskanen is just flat out in another league from that group overall (though Quinn is underrated defensively, Makar is a train wreck.)

But you're talking about 3 guys who either already are #1's or will play on a top pair. I don't see that from Nils.

Better defensively than Makar? Yeah, but no where close to him offensively.

Dude has been scorching hot offensively for the past month or so. Has to be near or ahead of his pace last year over that time period.

Hopefully he’s still playing well defensively!

A package for Eichel probably starts with Buchnevich, DeAngelo, Miller and a 1st. Maybe throw in Chytil.

We're probably looking at a package bigger than the one we gave up for Nash back in 2012
You guys are smoking some good stuff (please share) if you believe a player like Eichel can be had for a package like that. Negotiations would have to include Lafreniere for Buffalo to even look at it.

Funny too how you think other teams would value all of these players that obviously are not huge pieces likely in NYR's future. Miller possibly and Buchnevich can still get better, but some top players can't be kept due to cap constraints.

Thanks for stopping by and dropping the knowledge.

Now kindly get the f*** out.
