Neither? I really honestly think its close between both, even if the poll indicates otherwise.

Robertson is dominating the OHL in his D+1 in such a way that I think he could make a team stacked upfront like Toronto as soon as next year.
it's close in your opinion because you only watched robertson.... caufield playing in the NCAA this year is legit generational if you watched him once in his 7 games.

easy there on throwing out the 'G' word. Definitely not a generational player.
the way he plays in the NCAA ? ya, for the league he is playing on a generational level.
Is Robertson playing on a generational level in the OHL, with similar stats to other generational players ?

Both are similar undersized scoring wingers that were drafted in 2019 and that are having impressive starts in their D+1 season.

Nick Robertson (OHL, 5'9'', 162 lbs, drafted #53 OA by Toronto) : 25 points in 14 GP (16 G, 9 A)

Cole Caufield (Big 10 - NCAA, 5'7'', 162 lbs, drafted #15 OA by Montreal): 9 points in 6 GP (7 G, 2 A)

Who would you rather have on your team?
Luckily being an American, I get to have BOTH on my team! (for a few days during the World Juniors...)

7 goals in 6 games as a freshman in the NCAA is more impressive than 16 in 14 in the O.
I don't disagree with that statement at all, but he does have the most goals scored in the O so far this year so it's not exactly like everyone is doing it.

Do you really think that a few weeks into the season Caufield has been passed by a guy taken nearly 40 spots after him? I mean, even if he started the season with no goals in 6 games he would still be the correct answer but he's got 7 goals in 6 games and we're questioning if a 2nd rounder has passed him? There are probably some 1st rounders that Robertson has passed and if he keeps playing this way he'll pass a bunch more but it's unlikely that Caufield will be one of them until we see how they pan out in the NHL.

Robertson is also the youngest player in the 01 draft class, a full 8+ months younger than Caufield.

What both are doing is impressive, but this is still Caufield by a clear margin.

Imagine describing a 6 game sample size as 'generational'. God damn.
