goodenow says that he cant see any wiggle room with the 4 trigger points

did they ask him why he needs wiggle room if their proposal was supposedly going to work perfectly?

bob just said they wouldnt accept their own offer even if there were no trigger points. as long as there was a time frame that lead to another agreement, they dont want it.

goodenow is basically saying that he/the nhlpa dont want a system like the nhl's proposal today

he wants a system that both parties can agree upon and one that "has its own legs"

Goodenow is still pimping his Dec. Proposal, which needs some MAJOR modifications before it could even possibly work. I am STILL awaiting the PA getting off their high horse. The NHL is trying, and Goodenow is being a dick.

He's admitting over and over that his proposal sucks and would do nothing to help the league get on a better financial ground.

What a joke.

He has lost his mind, the NHL made an important step forward today, even if it's just PR, it's another point for them in the case of an impasse. Goodenow and the players are digging their own graves...

The thing is the Bobby boy actually thinks that the nhl will weaken if they have to cancell the season. If the season is lost so is hope for the pa! In the end the owners are rich b/c of what they have done outside of the nhl. The Players will only see big money by playing in the NHL!

Beautiful! Bettman calls Goodenow on his proposal and Goodenow turns tail and runs. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! How can anyone back the NHLPA is beyond me?

No proposal made past the last few weeks was workable or was supposed to work. They were simply proposals for PR and to show the other side how strong they were in their stance. No suprise that Goodenow doesn't think the Dec 9 would work, it wasn't supposed to.

what will be interesting is what route the NHL takes after the season is canceled

Goodenow's refusal to try his own proposal sure sets up an interesting scenerio for impasse.

So Goodenow has basically admitted that he has made no significant offer that should be taken seriously and has not made an attempt to get both sides negotiating on a fair partnership between the players and the owners. Thank you for clarifying that.

This isn't Goodenow's proposal. This is still a salary cap, because once three teams hit that 42 mil range, the cap gets slapped on... and it will take what, one offseason to do that? Seriously... those numbers would really have to be negotiated for this to be a viable deal.

Although Goodenow doesn't seem to want to negotiate that kind of system anyway, which is utterly stupid.
