Ummm Back-to-Back Art Ross Trophy wins, possible Back-To-Back Ted Lindsay Awards all at the age of 21. In terms of NOW, McDavid is better. In terms of career, Crosby has him on it for now. It's just a matter of time if McDavid keeps getting the scoring titles and awards.
I think the only thing McDavid is better than Crosby ratings wise is Speed. Other than that Offensive Awarenees is equal. Defensive awareness Crosby is better. Physical Strength Crosby. Agility is equal. So point is McDavid will win regular season awards all the time because of how the league is structured during the regular season. Its a young mans game. But in critical games or clutch games? Crosby has poise and raises his game and makes his teammates better. So if anything i give them equal ratings except for in skating speed, poise, physical strength

You're over rating almost everyone on your team by at least 1-2 points. As you have it, the NYI have a top squad on the nhl.

And before injuries last year they were having the best season in isles history losing boychuk and dehaan and replacing them with siedenberg aho and mayfield while halak and greiss were already having terrible seasons is enough to make them fall off the deep end no matter how much leddy looked to be in Norris contender form in the first 20 games

Kahun is a euro FA so given the EA trend he will probably be somehow worse than chl players rating wise at the start of the game then bumped to the mid 70s if he sticks.

That's why they play 82 games and not 20. they scored 80 points and were 17 points out of a playoff spot. The loss of boychuk and dehaan wouldn't have made that up. In a league where over half the teams make the playoffs, if you don't make it, you don't have a good team.

Chicago won the cup in 2010. In 2011, on the last day of the regular season, Chicago lost early in the day to Detroit and Dallas had an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot in literally the last game of the regular season, but lost to Minnesota. Chicago easily could've missed the playoffs that season despite a 97-point regular season. And they would go on to win the cup in 2013 and 2015.

Los Angeles finishes 40-27-15 in 2012, wins the Stanley Cup. Los Angeles finishes 40-27-15 in 2015, misses the playoffs.

That's why anyone should be able to see how important veteran defensive dmen are, there's no denying that the isles are a very good team with boychuk and dehaan

My point still stands, each year is different but bottom line, if you dont make the playoffs in the NHL you are below the 50th percentile meaning at a minimum a below average team. In the case of the NYI last year they were a poor team by all accounts. A team could score 100 points, if they don't make the playoffs they stink....it's all relative.

A very good team in what regard? So boychuk and dehaan are worth 25+ points being fully healthy? That what it would take to get into the playoffs for NYI.

Boychuk had 18 points in 58 games and De Haan had 12 points in 23 games (whopping 1g)....these aren't exactly Norris canadate numbers.

There are 20+ teams in the nhl that are better today and you're probably going to lose your best player.

You say there is "no denying that the NYI are a very good team" get a grip. A couple of good forwards and a couple of veteran (aging) dmen don't equal a good team. This team, as of now, is a bottom dweller and the player rankings should reflect that.

With boychuk leddy was the Potential Norris candidate with mayfield he's a minus 40, with dehaan and boychuk the isles have a solid top 4 d and a top 3 offense in the league but yes let's act like aho will be playing 20 minutes a game and mayfield will be anything more than a number 7
