That Tatar haul scares me but has to be less than what we offered for Karlsson.

Islander fan invading your space. Do you SOBs know how lucky you are to have a GM who knows wtf he's doing and an owner willing to let him do it? It is both maddening (as a fan of another team) and a pleasure to watch such a well run franchise operate. Good luck.

It would have driven me nuts to not see this team do anything to fix its holes. If you make trades to improve, and get beaten in a good series, it happens. But, if we would have sat back and ignored our weaknesses, and then lost because of that, it would have been extremely frustrating.

Winners imo

-Tampa
-Pittsburgh
-Winnipeg
-Nashville
-Blue Jackets
-Devils

Losers

-Toronto (Plakenic... really? thats all you did? Good luck with that d-core in the playoffs)
-Montreal (Should have dealt Pac and got a solid return)
-Ottawa (Could have gotten a lot of nice pieces trading some of the players, just commit to the rebuild like the Rangers who have a lot of draft picks this year)
-Kings (they took Phaneuf, enough said)

I disagree on a lot of your winners. Winnipeg and Pittsburg while adding a nice 3C, still paid a 1st + for a 3C. Nashville paid a 1st + for a 3rd line wing so that's not good. We paid a 1st + but got a top 4 defender which is a much better return. Jersey and Columbus added some depth and didn't pay too much so that's good.

I disagree that Ottawa and Montreal lost. They can still trade Pacioretty and Karlsson before the draft and get a good return. There's also more teams available to trade with as well, until we see a return it's hard to call them losers. Phaneuf is actually pretty good, overpaid for sure but a tough defender to play against and with Gaborik going to other way didn't cost much.
