I came across something yesterday in passing that mentioned Philadelphia was the shortest team on average.

So let's all point and laugh, I suppose.

Vancouver (6H, 30W) is apparently a team full of twigs.

Philly (30H, 28W) and Chicago (28H, 29W) get this year's smurf labels.

Buffalo (17H, 2W) is chunky, but that's probably just Lehner bringing up the average.

Anyone feel like sorting those? Not really interesting to look at without it being sorted.

Also what does HRK, WRK, and ARK mean?

Flyers are funny.

Our forwards are around league average for forwards at ~71.8 and 198lbs.

Our defense is tiny at ~71.25 and 198lbs. That will be the smallest in the league no doubt.

Tbh I don't know how Mirtle calculated the Flyers weights (I know Weal drags it down when in fact Lyubimov will be on the roster over him for 1st game)... he must not be using the recent camp weights and still have for example Couturier in the 190's (when he is 211lbs), Schenn at 190 (when he is 195-198lbs) and Konecny at 175lbs (when he is 184lbs.)

9th youngest team in the league and yet the Rangers are some how still old and over the hill. :shakehead .

Think the forward group of NYR is one of the youngest. Obviously lack the one real superstar but still. Future is better than what people think. Didnt have any superstar forwards when we lost the stanley cup final either. Thats pretty rare.
NYR is in a better spot longterm than people think

Average League Age?

Anyone have the last 20 years of the average league age across the NHL?

I would it assume it continues to trend downwards...

So, big bad teams this year are LA, Winnipeg, and (this one surprise me) Dallas. Smallest are Chicago and (another surprise) Philly. Vancouver and Calgary are anorectic teams, while Buffalo and Columbus are overweight teams. 2 oldest teams are recent SC finalists. New York Rangers found elixir of youth- as recent as 1 or 2 years ago this team was listed as the oldest, now-8th youngest...

It is our defense... they are miniature. Provorov is pretty much our biggest Dman straight away! Our forwards are around average.

Also Weal is on the roster even though he will not be come opening night and drags it down.

That is soon to be corrected though with the additions of Morin (6'7") and Sanheim (6'4") — possibly Myers (6'5") — and the departure of Streit (5'11").
