Rangers prospect Lias Andersson has put in a trade request apparently. 7th overall pick in 2017.

Came here to post this. Seems like there are a few former 1st round forwards looking for a new home. Curious to know if BMac would look to trade a defensive prospect for one of them or if he’s happy with the positional balance they have in the organization.

Andersson is no good though. Definitely not the prospect BMac should be looking to trade for.

Me: Was looking at the hits stat and noticed some interesting things as far as home/road splits go. Well, interesting to me, anyway. (All stats via NHL.com, all from this season unless specifically noted.)

Brandon Tanev leads the league in home hits per 60 mins TOI with 19.8. The Penguins as a whole lead the league with hits at home with 7.25/60 TOI.

Then you get to the road stats. Tanev is 41st in the league on the road with 14.51 hits per 60 mins, and the Penguins are 15th in the league on the road, with 4.22/60 TOI.

By comparison:
Vegas home - 2nd, 6.57/60, road - 12th, 4.34/60
Washington home - 7th, 5.52/60, road - 16th, 4.19/60
Tampa home - 12th, 4.40/60, road - 4th, 5/60
NYI home - 3rd, 6.21/60, road - 1st, 5.79/60
VAN home - 16th, 4.22/60, road - 31st, 3.36/60
NJD home - 4.20/60, road - 25th 3.74/60

You're more likely to get credited with at hit at home than on the road, especially if you play for the Penguins, and Vancouver's scorers try to keep up appearances at home, but the Canucks appear to be on the soft side.

I'm going to check historicals at some point, because this is what hockey nerds like me do for fun.

Barry's head will explode if they don't fix that soon! :scared:

I am just taking a wild ass guess here, but they started with a light schedule that was heavily tilted toward home games. In other words they were fresher and had more practice time than most other teams. Now they are playing at least as much as the other teams and starting play their share of road games.

I think they are finally tired.

Not just hits, there can be significant home/road biasing in a number of stats. Some people chose to only look at road stats in order to counteract this.

Reimer gives up 3 in slightly over 5 minutes and his night is over against his former team.

Damn what a putrid start for Pesce. Completely lost in the 1st goal and then swings his stick in Hyman's face, gets 4 minutes and Leafs score twice.
