Sergei Fedorov on defense. His coach would probably say if he played a full season, he'd win a norris. Elite skating, elite IQ, elite shot, good size.

On a serious note though, I think karlsson at wing would be pretty difficult to contain.

A famous example over the years might be Red Kelly. Kelly played his first 13 seasons on defense and and then played center for his final 7 (during this time, Kelly also served in politics while playing). Kelly is notable for having more Stanley Cups than any other player who never suited up for the Habs.

I remember laughing at a video a couple years ago of Hasek skating out during a practice and taking shots on net.

I think the closest comparable would be a faster, more agressive Subban. I have no doubt he would be a Norris-winning defenseman.

Now Subban at forward would be interesting...So tough to knock off the puck.

Erik Karlsson, great forward with lots of creativity and smooth skating and tape to tape passing, but with horrendous backchecking skills because he'd be awful defensively. He basically remains unchanged
