Can't wait for this. It's the only time we'll ever see something like this. Unfortunately because of a very shitty situation... but still this will make for some intense hockey. 3 games in a row will easily create many side stories. These teams are all going to hate each other by the playoffs.. where they'll all go again for another 4 games minimum. Possibly playing one team 17 times in one season lol.

Was hoping that all the back to backs would be same team same place since there's a lot of teams playing 2 or 3 times in a row. Would avoid travel and the potential unfair situation where 1 team is on a back to back with travel while the other isn't and are waiting at home. But there's 3 back to backs in that scenarios against different teams with travel.

Teams are playing each other 9 or 10 times over a 4 month period. A playoff series is more intense and if it goes the distance, that's 7 games in 2 weeks. I would expect that the bad blood that gets built up over this next season will be a lot less than what is built in a 7 game playoff series. I really think that people are going to be massively disappointed if they think this schedule is going to result in a lot of bad blood between teams. But as usual, I could be wrong.

Wow, 4 of the final 7 games are against Montreal. This has real potential if the Habs (or Leafs) are on the playoff bubble. Actually, it has potential no matter what.

If there is anything fair in this universe, by late April let this Covid be under control enough so that fans are allowed in the arenas.

I don't know about that. On a preliminary basis this seems to be a hit. This might be one good thing that comes out of a shitty year. I work not be surprised in the least if this becomes more common in coming seasons.

The NHL wants more intensity, rivalry and fan appeal? This could very well be the way to do that.

Man are these teams going to get sick of each other. Should make for some great hockey.

It's going to be a schedule of every opponent treating each game with the Leafs like a rivalry game. No easy no-hit affairs with disinterested opponents on a Tuesday night. It's a real opportunity to grow up as a Cup contender or get exposed.

We're going to get really tired of Ottawa. Worst part of those games is that Ottawa-Toronto games are the playoffs for the Sens. They will feel like they've accomplished something this season if they mess in any way with the Leafs' playoff aspirations.

And this is an incredible coaching test across the league. With the crazy back to backs (to backs to backs to backs), coaching staff who really know how to make adjustments to opposition schemes will excel while the slow to respond will fail. Don't be surprised to see a few "low talent" teams with savvy coaches tp have great records.

Should be a more tactical element playing the same team 3 times in a row, right? Like little playoff serieses throughout the season like in baseball. Have a little time to figure a team out and tweak between games.
