Good thread idea, might evolve into a "we should have picked him" type thread but on the bright side, it will unclutter the other prospect threads with talk of non-Senators prospects.

What do you guys think of the Leafs 1st round pick this year? Hope he busts but this is a nice goal he scored today:

Great pick imo. That Russian team really over matched the Finns today. Marat scored a nice goal as well. Afanasyev (2019) 1G 2A

That's like my go-to goal in the NHL games for several years now. They can't stop you from scoring/exploiting it no matter how hard they try.

The stats in the Q need to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt at this point. There are no strong teams in the Maritimes this year, they are all very weak (Saint John completely falling apart, they have a lot of NHL prospects but they are all 17 or 18).

Some of our prospects will not have played a meaningful game for at least 10 months .. IMO there is only so much you can do at the gym, or working on game elements with skill coaches or skating coaches.. a key part of development comes through the games. Terrible timing for everyone but especially for rebuilding teams counting on a jump from some of their prospects.
