I find it so odd that there are so few highlights of the 1995-99 finals. I'm sure we'll unearth more.

I've gotta find my VHS of the 1996 All Star Game, and upload some of the clips to YouTube somehow.

Let me go on record by saying I loved the glowing puck. It gave you and everyone else watching a sense of the speed behind a slapshot, how hard a pass was, etc. It also made the game viewable for nonhockey fans. I'm sure that more fans were made during the period of the glowing puck than most other periods (that didn't come out like I wanted it too, alll well:sarcasm:), so when I was at a family engagement or hosting one, we can actually watch hockey without guests staring perplexed at the screen, looking for the puck. Maybe someday the NHL (or all TV) will be broadcast through the internet, and there could be options for the glowing puck. Then again, canadian fans who it has no effect on (american ones too, obviously, but they always seemed to do it to a much lesser degree) would probably complain about how the glow puck is ruining their game, and once again run the game into the ground in the US.

Man Why did the NHL burn theri bridges with FOX just to sign that contract with ESPN/ABC. FOX actually put teams Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Washington. :shakehead If the NHL knew that ESPN would turn their product away from the NHL to the NBA;NHL would have signed a 5 year extension with all 7 SCF games on FOX.

I remember the Fox time fondly. Say what you want about the glow puck, it caused a buzz. Anything that would cause a buzz right now would be plus. I don't care that purists didn't like it, I thought it was cool every once in a while. Would I want to watch every game with it on? No, but every once in a while, sure.

The robots were awesome. They still use them for the NFL games.

To expand on the topic, does this include the transition to FSN? I think FSN has some pretty awesome coverage.
