We know Chayka will exploit any cracks or grey areas possible to get an advantage. That is what is expected of him tbh.

It feels that some pundits desperate to get Chayka caught. We will see....

But one thing for sure: for better or worse, Chayka will never be at the back of the pack.

There are two articles in the Athletic about this. The article from 2/3/2020 gives more details than the article of 1/31/2019, including the name of Tommy Powers. Powers is the strength and conditioning consultant, who previously worked for the team and owns Empowers Performance.

If he had draft eligible clients, who were also interviewed by the Coyotes and he served as the consultant...this could be the issue.

Watch us lose high end draft picks. This might be more serious than we first thought. I would think our owner is not impressed with this, if we end up losing picks etc. If this incident grows legs, Chayka might be in big trouble. Once lawyers get involved look out.

If anything more than fines happen, like the loss of another 1st round pick (we're already out this this years) then Meruelo needs to fire the front office. I like Chayka but this would be a BIGGG **** up

Picks aren't part of the agreed upon punishment.

20 x 250k isn't a small chunk of change, though.

Given the recent precedence of ownership firing management for cheating (MLB), expect a clean sweep after the fines are announced.

Yeah I don’t see that happening.

big gap between banging on trash cans and eyeballing a potential draft pick.

lmao

Chayka was extended while Meruelo likely knew about this. It's a gray area. The league is not going to drop the anvil on the Coyotes of all teams. It's nothing remotely like the cheating that went on in MLB.

Ray Shero would be a fine upgrade.

Not in the salary cap era
