Decided to re-rate goalies since this games horrible ratings are especially atrocious with how they rate goalies. I know some guys may seem a bit low or too high but thats because that goalie is unproven with little to no pedigree or was an elite goalie I'm not 100% sold on having declined as much as stats suggest vs the team in front of them. Potential is based off what level the goalie reached for at least a few years at the high point of their careers but also factors in a little of where they are now.

With that said here are my NHL goalie ratings from best to worst. I will be adding 3rd string/AHL goalies eventually.

Those look pretty good to me! Lots of similarities to my own re-rating project :)

Obviously it's at least somewhat subjective, so no offense taken if you think my thoughts are idiotic

Haven't done him yet but I'd probably drop Bishop a notch or two, as he just can't stay healthy anymore and you have to wonder how effective he'll be from here on out. I think I have Fleury more like an 83 or 84 iirc ~ still starter caliber (for now) but in decline. I have Kuemper at an 87 elite, but fully realize some would argue his stats are somewhat inflated by his team. I'd also say Greiss is too low, I'd have him more like an 83 or 84 but I might be biased in favor of a fellow Kraut ;) He's been quite solid in recent years though....

Bishop still puts up elite numbers though, I have a slight feeling it may be because of the system as I've never been big on Khudobin and yet he's been amongst the best the last 1-2 years. I just lower Bishop's durability to 75ish but keep him at 89 ovr. Since he puts up elite stats, just cant stay healthy. Had Fleury not turned it around this year, I probably would have dropped him to exactly that (83-84), but because he's been one of the best goalies this season, and in turn Lehner is playing horribly, I left them both at 87. Keumper I'm not sold on yet. Arizona is known to inflate goalie stats. Raanta has had very similar stats in his time there. Plus outside of 1 season, He's never played more than 31 games in a season. Lots of 1B goalies look elite playing 1B loads but falter when given bigger workloads. See Jake Allen and Cam Talbot. Griess, just like Kuemper, I feel benefited from playing behind a Trotz defensive system. He is being massively outplayed by his counterpart Bernier in Detroit now that he's been taken out of an easy environment for a goalie. Max i think I'd rate him is 82 but then again I personally have never been high on Greiss and think he makes for a good 1B. 82 is as high as it gets for me for 1B goalies. the only 2 to get higher are Halak and Khudobin. Khudobin, I mentioned I never thought highly of him until recently. He'd generally have 1 good year and 2 bad ones. He's put it together for a few years now and has taken a starters load due to Bishop's injury hence why I've made him the highest rated 1B at 84. Halak I've always rated around 82 but he's been amazing the last couple years and has taken starter roles and not looked out of place in Boston and Montreal.

Thanks for the well-reasoned response, everything you wrote makes sense. If I may be allowed a couple rebuttals, I'd still keep Bishop in the elite range (87ish) and I think the divisional play of this year can be a bit misleading. For example, Fleury has played 12 games, right? Most of those were against the likes of Anaheim (4 games!), Arizona, San Jose and (to some extent) LA, who aren't exactly high powered offenses... that said, he *does* have a pair of shutouts against Colorado, however...

I guess we just disagree with how bishop should be rated and nothing wrong with that. I can see why some may want to lower his rating due to his inability to stay healthy. For me, that’s what the durability rating is for.

Fleury may have faced some weaker comp but I believe he is in the top 5 of expected goals saved so I think it evens out.

I’ve completed my ratings of ahl goalies. From the lack of views and responses to this thread, not sure if there’s enough a community desire to post them. If anyone does want them, let me know

You put together a real good list. I think I would have Gibson at least at a 90 ovr, and I would bump up Jake Allen to 83 or 84 based on is play this year (probably just personal bias). Aside for those two, I think you're pretty spot on with the rest, nice work!
