So Schiefele takes the tie braker round against Rantanen to rank 21st in our annual HFBoards NHL Forwards Rankings. Great player who keeps on producing at elite rates well responsible defensively. So 22 is next is this a shoe in for Rantanen??

Not to necessarily single out the previous post but PLEASE remember to vote for the next best forward NOT your favourite teams player or your favourite player. Im not voting for JT Miller here, I ask others to rank these players of who is best NEXT

Marner should be off the board already, about 6 or 7 spots ago

Petterson has yet to hit 70 points in a season Martner has crackef 90
so does that make Giroux better than both? He cracked 100..... Gaudreau had 99. Must be better too.

Pettersson is a better player today than Marner, and going forward. He upped his games in the playoffs, a much better goalscorer, and has a much better 2 way game. Marner is a 1 dimensional playmaking winger.

At least those point totals are close, Petterson has not gotten to within 25 points of what Marner has cracked

No don't think so EP finished with 18p as best player on nucks carrying the teem to second round

15 Elias Pettersson 17 7 11 18 +2

Marner had a fast play in exit producing 4 assists, on a teem that are supposed to be so much better then the nucks. I would definitely not swap EP with MM from nucks perspective.

141 Mitchell Marner 5 0 4 4 -1

such poor logic... maybe youre not aware that EP only played 68GP last season because it was a SHORTENED SEASON. He wouldve had around 80P maybe more. And are just dismissing the playoffs and 2 way play?

He also wasnt carried by an elite centre like Matthews. He IS the elite centre.

Also, EP just turned 22, and hes getting better ever year... Marner regressed.

I don’t think there’s a GM in the league who would take Marner over EP. Marner should go somewhere in the next three options. Probably a bit too early because of the ton of Leaf fans on here but what can you do.

Marner is better than petterson and aho so he shouldve been around 15th. Lots of recency bias going on here.
Recency bias as in EP is just getting better every year whereas Marner fell back.... I guess you think Giroux should be top 10 since he scored 100P a few years ago.

'Recency bias' may be the most misused term on HF Boards.
If you meant to say that one player elevated his play during his first trip to the playoffs and the other has not shown that same ability, then I agree with you. And when you are talking about a player who has been in the NHL for two years, it's hardly 'recency bias' to look at his second season and playoffs to evaluate him. It would be idiotic to not focus on that.

Because a pandemic cut short the f***ing season. Man, the Leafs fans suddenly doing a 180 on pace is pathetic

Not all leaf fans care about /60 and pace. We are a large fanbase.

EP had a pace for almost 80 points, still 14 short of what marner accomplished in 18-19 and he paced for the same this year.

It is close but marner is slightly ahead.

I'll take a full season and 94 points over 18 points in 17 playoff games any day. Short sample and recency bias are clouding peoples judgment.

EP is an awesome player but marner is ahead for now.
