Gaudreau is a shit-show defensively. Give me a healthy Backstrom over JG. 2-way 1C > ppg winger that's bad defensively

There’s no wrong answer between Giroux, Backstrom and Gaudreau. I would put Tkachuk and Laine in the next tier followed by Anze, Seguin, Svechnikov and Kuznetsov.

Sure, he had a bad year. So what though? 7th most points 5v5 in the league over the last three seasons. More than a ton of players above him on this list. Only guys with better production are McDavid, Kane, Panarin, MacKinnon, Kucherov, and Draisaitl. And he's of course not the only player with flaws in his defensive game, Draisaitl is just as shitty.

He was 46th in points among forwards last season, after a very disappointing playoffs the year prior (and this summer wasn't a whole lot better).

I actually voted for him here - but i don't think he should have gone higher. Really bad season. And past 2-3 years combined, he's around ~20th or so in points among forwards, but many were better last season than him. Until he can bounce back this year, i don't think he should be much higher.
