Haven't seen a lot of Rickard Rakell, but during the world juniors he made me think of Mikael Renberg.

Tomas Jurco seems to be a guy who will be either first line star or bust.
I hope, I hope, I hope...

1-Ryan Nugent-Hopkins : Claude Giroux
2-Adam Larsson : A better version of a young Roman Hamrlik
3-Gabriel Landeskog : a mix of a young Jamie LAngenbrunner and Brenden Morrow
4- Sean Couturier : A slightly more offensive Jordan Staal
6-Jonathan Huberdeau : A bigger Pat Kane but Kane has better ice vision.
7-Dougie Hamilton : Jack Johnson with better skill on D but less offensively
8-Ryan Murphy : Rafalski with a greater vision
9-Duncan Siemens : A more physical Meszaros to me is a solid comparison
10-Mark McNeil : Jason Arnott
12-Mika Zibanejad : A bigger Patrice Bergeron but doesn't have his elite 2way skill yet
13-Mark Scheifele : Ryan Getzlaf at the same age

These are upside's only.

For guys from the O:

Landeskog: Richards is the easy comparison, and probably his ceiling. I see more of a David Booth, however he can step in and play right away.

Hamilton: Chara without the mean streak. Sort of an awkward skating style and a good outlet pass. Maybe more of a Myers.

Strome: Toughest call as I am not his biggest fan. I think a Stephen Weiss comparison is fair.

Murphy: Is there a comparison? I would say MA Bergeron until he figures out to play D.

Scheifele: U18s he looked like a future 1 centre. A Jason Spezza. The majority of times I have seen him, he disappeared at some point in the game and was a soft player. Wait that is Jason Spezza...

Jensen: I could see anything from Iginla to an Erik Cole.

Namestikov: Afinegenov (sp?). Too much of a tease to not be similar.

Puempel: Brad Boyes. Pure goal scorer.

Saad: Todd Bertuzzi right now. Not sure if he will ever be Bertuzzi pre-Steve Moore.

Khoklachev: Zherdev without a doubt.

Catenacci: Mike Fisher. Solid two way C with about a 50pt ceiling.

Jenner: Manny Malholtra. Great competitive drive, could see him as a dominating 3rd line C.

Sproul: Tough call as I have only seen him once. From what people have described him as, I would go with Cody Franson.

Noesen: Jarret Stoll. Real hard shot, similar skating.

Ritchie: Not a huge fan of his but I could see him safely becoming Ryane Clowe.

Lessio: Boom or bust, I could see him becoming a real good energy player. Lapierre is what I am thinking.

Rakell: I got nothing on him. Never impressed when I saw him.

Note, this isn`t their ceiling just imo a realistic judgment of their potential.

RNH to me = Brad Richards or Doug Weight (maybe a faster version of Craig Janney fits also)

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins:

interesting comparisons...Claude Giroux, Datsyuk, B.Richards...
Maybe he'll turn out to be a poor man's version of Joe Sakic?

Sean Couturier:
I like the poster that wrote ''slightly more offensive Jordan Staal'', interesting... So maybe something between Eric and Jordan!! (I'd take it!).

StCroix: a possible Gilmour!! I'd take that in a nano second!

I also see a boom or bust with Lessio.
IMO i think he doesnt have the grit to play in the bottom six. But on a skilled team i could see him being a decent 3rd liner, with top 6 potential.

Its hard to compare to nhl players. a decent skater, shifty, good hands and seems to be determined. Maybe a winger version of Grabovski. Maybe he will shape up into a more complete player in the coming year in Oshawa.

Not a chance of being near Gilmours, level, obviously, I think it was more a comparison of style of play.

Yup! ''El Nino'' was the one who must have seen St-Croix play since he made the comparison... I myself have never seen StCroix play.

Of course I realize that StCroix might end up a 4th line version of Gilmour! We'll have to wait 3-4 years... maybe he'll end up a poor man's version of Derek Roy,etc...

Unless you think STOLL is a shines in take-aways,in wall play,in hacking away in the blue paint and playing with an edge,a pouncer on loose pucks, AND also able to make plays off the rush I can't see him as a comparable to Noesen---maybe Noesen is not an "A" level in most aspects (except wall play and take-aways) but he probaly has more overall B's than most guys in this draft ...does a bit of everything well and a few things very well ...if there is one flaw it might be stamina but plymouth resorted to double and triple shifting his line vs. their loses to Owen Sound and Noesen just ran out of gas as the series wore on. BUT he was very good in their prior series..I think his game really will translate to NHL success ...
