That's weird, on mine all I have is 426. But I had CI last season, so I thought it automatically continues unless I cancel. I didn't even know this though and I re-ordered it from the Bell site. There is no reason why I shouldn't be subscribed to CI. :dunno:

A few days after I ordered through the Bell site, I e-mailed them and they said there was no indication that NHL: CI was ordered and they wanted to know if I wanted it added. You may want to follow up.

The NHLH1 and NHLH2 are the high-def channels I believe.

I tried to renew today with Cox Cable in VA and they still did not have it listed yet for me to renew- they said it was usually up to renew a few weeks before the season and I said it was almost 2 weeks before the season. I asked her if it was being dropped or anything and she did not think so. Has anyone else tried to renew through Cox Cable and if so have you been able to renew yet for this season?

I have a feeling the price was cheaper last year to get people interested in getting Center Ice after the strike and now it's back to the"normal"price level.

I have Bell Expressvu as well, mine auto-renewed and I got a letter from Bell via mail that said Center Ice automatically renews each year unless I call them and cancel.

The only thing I can think of to why your other channels arent up is possibly you have the favorite list setting on your dish, as opposed to all channels.....You have to go to your guide and add the other channels in your favorites.

Hope this helps.

I've been told by others that in past years, they did order it by itself.

I don't want freakin' baseball, football or NASCAR.

I called Rogers about it on sunday. Operator told me they didn't have a price for just Centre Ice yet. And if they don't by now, I assume that means you'll have to get it as part of the sports package, which I think is $25 a month. Last year it was offered by itself; I called about it around February right after the free preview but I would have had to pay for the full year of get the sports package so I didn't bother.

I'm with you, I don't want the nfl, mlb or nascar. If it comes with ncaa basketball once that starts up I'd watch a few games but I don't care to pay for it.

I'm a little angry with directv today. I subscribe to the sportspak and NHL Center Ice. I got home last night and saw there was a Stars game on Ch.643 I turn it on and it says program not available in your area. ***. I thought that is the whole point to getting the sportspak. so you can get games that are not available in your area. I call customer service and the little rep tries to have me reset my receiver, unplug the receiver, pray for the receiver etc. Then she transfers me to a TECHNICAL SPECIALIST!!!! I sat on hold for 20 minutes before I gave up.

Anyone else having trouble?

I had the same issue. It's good to know it's just not me. Last year none of the preseason games were blacked out. This year it seems that they're being subjected to the blackout restrictions which means that we're SOL. I'm going to try calling them tonight but all the reps are clueless. I assume the message you got was "program not available in your area?" If so, that implies blackout.

They even blacked out some of the Ranger classic games, which is rediculous IMO.

I also have DirecTV with the sports package and Center Ice. I'm in the Dallas area so I got the Stars game on FSSW, but games in other areas are blacked out to me. I think that's the way it's always been - you can get pre-game & post-game shows, etc. from around the country, but not the games themselves because they're subject to blackout restrictions. Which is where Center Ice comes in - but Center Ice doesn't cover pre-season games.

Make sense?

I was told that DIRECTV blacked out the 2 preseason games last night arbitrarily as there are no territorial restrictions imposed by the league on preseason games. Trying to talk to one of DIRECTV's customer service reps is an exercise in futility.

Last year they definately weren't. I am a Rangers/Sharks fan and was able to watch all preseason games televised through the sportspack here in Philly. Why pay for that stupid pack otherwise?

Edit: I will be calling DirecTV after work and try to find an answer on what changed from last yr to this yr as to why it is now blacked out. Wish me luck!

Just curious... where did you hear that from? I too am trying to figure out why preseason games are being blacked out on the sports pack on DirecTV, because, as others have said, it definitely wasn't the case in previous years... all preseason games on the sports pack were available. As an additional note, we've had discussions about this on the Avs board, and last year, it appeared that this was provider-specific. Our recollection is that those with Dish Network were the ones being blacked out of preseason games last year on the sports pack, while those with DirecTV got the games fine. I had never been blacked out of a preseason game with DirecTV in previous years.

I couldn't even get through to a live person to scream at last night! I've had Directv sports pkg since 1999 and this is the second time this has happened. The first time, Directv changed it after 2 days because of complaints. Over the seasons, NHL game replays haven't been blacked out, so you could go back and watch the road team's version. Baseball, on the other hand, won't let you watch any broadcasts unless it's on the series of Baseball "channels" and live.
Or, of course, a game of your "home" team.

I'll be happy to call and complain. I just want to have some ammunition when I do. Thus, my question to the other poster about the source of the information about DirecTV arbitrarily blacking out last night's games when not required to do so. Can anyone confirm the absence of territorial restrictions on preseason games?

my understanding was that all professional sports are blacked out on the sportspack. i got it and when i found that out last year i immeditely cancelled it. haven't all baseball games been blacked out on other fsns and such all summer? also, i'm annoyed that the center ice schedule isn't out yet

Question for those who have had NHL Centre Ice on Cable (InDemand) in the past.

When baseball season begins, some games will overlap etc.

In the past, how many hockey games are usually missed? How do they decide which games get missed?

Thanks.

I just got off the phone with DirecTV customer service and they are sticking to the claim that the games follow blackout restrictions. I complained enough that they sent me to the customer retention group. I got a little more help there. ( The first rep told me I needed to write a letter to the network). I'll let you know when I get my call back
