Meh. I hate that they are raising the prices, it would be nice to have it stay at a set price for a few years, but alas that wont happen. They know that die-hards will pay almost anything for the games, and we will. Gotta have it for my Sharks games.

I just called Comcast and was told that there is no NHL package available. I just recently moved to a city serviced by Comcast and have always had CI from my old "small" cable company. I've seen others post of getting CI from Comcast but then this call I made casts doubt to me. ***? This company amazes me more and more every day.

This is most certainly not "Comcastic".

Ever been to their website? Worst website EVER.:shakehead

i would probably pay up to $250 for center ice. it's that good. $149 is still a fair deal.

Considering I don't have and want it I would also pay that much for it. Right now I am at the mercy of OLN, NBC, and HDNet.

Amen. Shaw thinks its so freakin' important to have NFL Sunday Ticket and like 80 PPV Movie channels, and a dozen French language channels besides the French CBC, but no Centre Ice.

I hate that except we don't have the NFL thing. We have 10 porn ppv channels yet no sports packages except the nascar thing which is stupid in my opinion. I hope they add center ice here very soon it's stupid they don't have it already.

Oh yeah I also noticed my cable system just added 6 channels of EPPV which I believe is ESPN PPV. But for atleast the next week there is nothing on there.

Center Ice on Comcast

I live in Minnesota and just called and got it ordered for the season at the early bird rate of $149.

It's worth twice that price. Look, the way hockey ratings are going, Center Ice may wind up being the only game in town in a few years. Support it for as much as you can financially spare.

It won't be available in all Comcast markets. If teh cable lines in your area haven't been upgraded to allow them to expand your cable lineup, you likely won't get it.

I had CI when I lived in my old place with Adelphia. I moved less than 2 miles away into an area serviced by Comcast and I haven;t been able to get it for the past 3 years.

Does Center Ice show pre-season games?

yes. although it's not all inclusive (ie not all preseason game). It's a limited lineup depending upon what markets actually televise such events. Few games during the week and likely a weekend game.

Alright, I have to get CI now that I've moved to Chicago. Through which cable company (whichever's the cheapest) should I order CI? Dish Network, InDemand, or DirecTV? I'm guessing InDemand isn't exactly a cable company because when I called them they just redirected me through my local cable company, which is Comcast except I have RCN.

Maybe I'l call up Rogers and tell them I'll sign a contract to get Center Ice for 15 years if they charge me $49.95 annually. :D

"Indemand" is the company that supplies CI and other sports packages to your cable company.

It really doesn't matter which one you get it on. Its all the same package and the same price.

Cable's monthly bill for their service is probably more, though.

Can anyone tell me the reasons why Calgary and Edmonton games would be required to be blacked out in Regina, SK on NHL centre ice.

Edmonton and Calgary NHL regions include AB, SK, MB, and NWT. SportsNet purchased rights to show games within that region, not national rights. NHL CI is an out of market package, meaning that its purpose is to show out of market (in your case non-Edm and Cal) games to the subscriber.
