I'm really hoping for Ferland.

He can play left or right wing, he can pass, steals pucks, wins battles, great net front presence... Was only 26 last year, put up back to back 40 point seasons despite an unusually low shooting pct. He has really strong possession metrics. Kills penalties, plays on the power play, has good speed, throws game changing hits and he'd feed a guy like Perron his lunch for getting in Rask's face.

I think Sweeney will try to fix our second line via trade. We have at least 10 NHL ready dman so he has to trade at least 2, imo.

Btw, Lee would be nice, but even trading Backes and Miller I don't think we would have enough money.

Thanks for posting this!

I wouldn't hesitate a second to add Heinen's money to that 7.1 for Laine and slide that offer sheet across the table. 9.9 million for Laine may seem high (and it is) but even giving him 1.5 more than that (8.6) and then the 1.3 to Puljujarvi seem like 9.9 spent well on July 1st.

Sell me please (I want to buy in) as to why he isn't Beleskey 2.o. Everything I am hearing is exactly what Bruins fans were sold on Beleskey so I am dreading the signing.

Someone will overpay and hopefully not us. I don't want another Beleskey.

TSN reports that Duchene likely to sign with Preds for $8m per year, can't see why the Bruins would not sign him for that and then trade Krejci for picks or to fill another hole.
Because Krejci is a better player and cheaper, pretty simple.

Because they are different people/players.

Matt Lashoff had most everybody here sold, that doesn't mean you don't draft big, skilled puck-moving defenseman when they become available.

I would love to see Adam McQuaid back here on a short-term, low money deal. Unfortunately, his role wouldn't be big enough here anymore --but damn he would have been great to have had back there against those big, cheap St Louis forwards. McQuaid hit like a truck when he was angry.
