You sure that isn't more of the Chia MO after he trades top players for really bad returns?

I don't know if it's true but there is a lot of smoke.

The other issue with Hall is that he's an LW and that isn't exactly an area of weakness.

The Bruins didnt wear down st louis at all after 9 days rest. Denial doesn't work and thinking you can complain your way about the refs to a cup doesn't either. Larry Robinson summarized the series perfectly and he also said the Bruins shy away from contact

Don’t think we are guilty of shying away from contact we just played a really big team and ours is a little undersized.

Problem is that we doubled down on this by being reliant on the PP. We were handed G3 on a platter because St Louis just wanted to cheap shot us and we didn’t play another good game until G6 when we were facing elimination.

We could have swept them they couldn’t have swept us. We could blow them out they couldn’t beat us 5-1 or something. Yes we we’re the better team and would win more times than not if we played again. But that don’t matter if your looking for calls the whole game it goes right out the window.

Taylor Hall is a bad apple. There are plenty of comments from former teammates, let alone all the talk from fans. You don't have to look far to find it.

Guys can mature and change on a new team. Savard had a bad rap before Boston. Look at Oreillys reputation a couple months ago.

I don’t think he’s a fit though because he’s gonna end up making way more than Bergy, Marshy etc. If someone’s gonna come in and dwarf them they need to basically be a Chara or Bergeron figure.

A lot of people attribute this comment as subtle shade at Hall.

Fine, let's talk about Savard.

The guy came to the Bruins a year after they had 29 wins and had a gaping hole down the middle. He was a big risk but they were desperate. It worked out but I still don't get the sense that Savard is BFF with any of the current Bruins.

At that time they were taking a risk when they had nothing to lose. This team, meanwhile, was one win away from the Cup. He also plays the 1 forward position where they don't need help. If he were a center, I could see it because it won't be long before Bergeron and Krejci are done, but I think they're better off saving the cap room and waiting for Monohon, Barkov or Mackinnon to hit free agency.

Yeah, if Montreal does an OS to Marner, then there’s only positive outcomes for Bruins fans. If we can’t get a top 6 guy, move Backes then I’ll greatly take pleasure in the misery of these enemies.

If it is Montreal they have to do it right this time. Offer $12 million and see what happens.
Teams need to think outside the box when issuing offer sheets. The idea is to hurt the team that may loose the player on the cap. In Toronto's case an offer of 5-6 years at 9-10 .5 million will not hurt them, they will match the offer. They still have the cap space to sign him.
However, offer a two- three year deal at 12-13 million per year and see if they match!
The Leafs will be in even more trouble in 2020-2021 season with the Cap, three of their top 5 dee men are UFA's.

Speaking of Cap space about the Leafs, all that needs to happen is Anderson to get hurt for a long period of time and the Leafs are in a BIG trouble, they will not have any cap space left to sign an average NHL goalie.

So your saying we should put McAvoy in the slot when playing the Leafs and let him finish Anderson off? :D

Wouldn't it be easier to say you don't care for Hall.

I doubt it’s Montreal because they’re still waiting on Carolina to counter, right? A lot of people think it’s Lou with the Islanders. I can dream it’s Sweeney’s big move.

If Don does one it flips the whole script on the summer. That means he has some plan to free up ~10 million on the team they dont have after resigning their RFAs. Thats Backes, Miller, & Moore getting shipped out.(without touching the core)

I’d put Krug on that list as well. If you can pick up an elite 22 your old RW like Marner then you make the room imo. They could recoup a lot of futures shipping out those defensemen... Backes is trickier.

Krug is easier to move, but it would shake up the locker room. He is a key piece to the core now and I am not sure you want to tamper with that. He's proven a lot to me this season, I used to be on the "move Krug before he hits UFA" train but I jumped and rolled off that after this postseason.

Someone will take Backes. Its not if, its how much.

I read somewhere that the Islanders thinking about doing it. Hell , I go 14-15.0 M per , you want the player that bad .... overpay. Throw a 20 million signing bonus in their too on the side. Watch Toronto still match it. So Toronto matches .. who’s up for point next . Lol
