Well past time for new thread

Some signings up North

Ended up 8 yrs at $5.125M AAV

Term is too long and full NMC seems nuts but they got him at pretty good cap hit thru his deal

He will be 36 at end of deal but should still be productive thru most of his deal

Overall not bad for Oilers IMO

Meh

He is on decline and IMO is a fringe 4th liner at this point

Also hasn't been productive player in playoffs for years

Dont really see point in this signing especially at 2 yrs

Leafs need his grit. In fact, they could use more. (Like TB realized a few years ago), the talented offensive players on TO's roster aren't enough in the postseason.

At a shade over $5M that is good cap hit for his production

Your going to safely get 50-60+ pt production from him and he is one of the few Oiler forwards who plays solid D

both signings make sense. simmonds started this year great. they need 4th liners and and he brings the toughness and experience. oilers have a hard enough time trying to get people to edmonton so if they have a good player who wants to stay lock him up long term.

He has to be carried by McDrai and quite honestly those two need to be able to carry their own lines so they can spend that RNH money on defense.

The Oilers need more talent at W not less

Losing RNH would have been a major blow and would have made it harder for Oilers to roll two top 6 line

?-McDavid-Yamamoto
RNH-Draisaitl-Puljujarvi

If they can clear Koskinen cap and bring in a decent winger they would have potential for pretty good top 6

They need more talent period.

But given how they are built they need McDavid and Drai to each anchor a line to have a more balanced top 6 so they can then spend some cash on the blue line. They also really need Bouchard to turn into a good player.

They’ll never be anything better than a .500 team I’d they’re a one line team and they top line takes up like 27M in cap space.

Yeah I don't honestly know how they get out of the jam that they are in.

If they were to have a a top line of Drai-McD-RNH that’s like 32% of their cap space on just the forwards. On just one line. Nuts.

Yeah the Habs are not winning this series

Edmundson turnover ends up in back of net

Horrid turnover but good job by Palat to jump on puck

3-1 TB with minutes left

Montreal threw everything they had at Vasi (Shots were 43-23 Montreal) but Vasi stood tall

TB has now won two completely different games to begin this final ,, This is looking every bit the replay of 2014 Cup final I thought it would be
