NHL announces dates for 2020 Draft, start of free agency

• The 2020 NHL Draft will be held virtually over two days. Round 1 will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Rounds 2-7 will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
• Free agency will open Friday, Oct. 9, at 12 p.m. ET.

When is the buyout deadline? Will be very curious to see if anyone exercises that option to deal with their cap issues.

Found the answer to my question above: the buyout window opens Sept. 25 and closes Oct. 8.

FA this year, and probably next, is going to be super interesting.

With internal caps, the mid to lower tier players are definitely going to feel the squeeze. (Virt, stetcher etc)

And probably the tier above to a lesser extent. No ~5.5M long term contracts for Tanev and Toffoli types.

Be interesting to see if short term lower dollar contracts are more prevalent, I'd think so.
