If you don’t mind me asking where were these guys confirmed? I can find any info about Clarke, Boom Boom or Plante.

Right here
They’ve also added an NHL legends feature, where retired players from the NHL Alumni Association, like Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Clarke, Jacques Plante and Boom Boom Geoffrion, will now be available to use on dream teams with modern stars. So, yes, you can ice a team featuring the Great One and Connor McDavid.
NHL 19 features the usual, but now has legends like 99 and a hilarious shinny mode

As gor the other 6 they are confirmed on the preorder.

Obviously Sundin is in it. For Leafs I'd want to see in the game

Salming
Potvin
Domi
Lanny
Cujo
Sittler

As for players who aren't Leafs but I grew up loving

Yzerman
Kariya
Sakic
Foote
Bure
Mario

That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others I can't think of at the moment

I really hope they go back and pull players from many different eras. I will feel ripped off if it’s mostly guys who retired in the last 10 years.

My team (Caps). Redundant with what the OP posted, but here it is anyway:
-Langway: hasn’t been in a game since 93 or 94. Great player who I never got to see in his prime, plus he’s helmetless.
-Bondra: great speed and shot. Would be cool to line him up on Ovie’s opposite wing.
-Stevens: greatest hitter of all time?
-Hunter: one of my all-time faves, would come with the trademark Jofa helmet.
-Gartner: speed, skill, stache.
-Iafrate: hardest shot in the game, unique skullet if/when the helmet pops off.

All-NHL wishlist, off the top of my head:
-Orr: only “Mt Rushmore” player who hasn’t been in an EA game yet.
-Probert: best fighter ever, an all-time favorite of mine.
-Bobby Hull: speed and shot. Another one who hasn’t been in an EA game before.
-Esposito: ditto.
-Mikita: ditto.
-Bossy
-Bure
-Domi
-ANY maskless goalie
-Hoping they bring back Howe and Lemieux

This Alumni stuff by player is so lame, I wish they'd do what NHL 2k used to do and just have the vintage teams in there as well.

Picking classic teams adds a lot of replay-value and the 'dream match-up' scenario.
Classic teams are so cool I agree. But there's really no reason they can't do both. Oh wait is this for HUT mode? They're looking for the MT cash. That's all.

Bondra isn't on list. I imagine the Caps with have 8 guys with 5/8 repping them.

Langway
Stevens(Devils)
Kolzig
Hunter
Gartner
Hatcher
Oates(Close, but due to better stats Bruins)
Ciccarelli(Stars)

Where is it stated that EA is limited to using players from that list? Scanning the list, I don't see any dead guys. Wasn't it supposed to span "all 100 years" of the NHL? And I specifically remember the Habs' century team a few years back having guys who were long dead like Morenz.

I thought Jacques Plante was confirmed? He's not on there.

I guess its not impossible for players who are not on the list to cut some kind of deal with EA. Forsberg i'm guessing also did it. I'm guessing EA will want to stick with the majority on the list though. EA probably made a deal with Plante's family. He may be dead but he is on the NHL top 100.
