PSL sales at Allegiant Stadium soar $228M over projections

The budget for personal seat license sales at the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium has increased by $228 million over original estimates.

Initially projected to bring in $250 million, better than forecast sales have led the Raiders to increase the PSL budget by 91.2 percent to $478 million, according to the latest financial report provided by the Las Vegas Stadium Authority.

All of that $478 million has been infused into the $2 billion, 65,000-seat stadium.

The increased budget has allowed the Raiders to add new features such as additional suites, a 26,000-square-foot field-level club, upgraded fixtures and art and an upgraded internet connection.

Sounds like Raiders will be popular in Las Vegas.

(Considering the Sharks fans "broke" the 49ers internet during the Stadium Series, improved internet is no joke. And with the potential for in-game betting, that might increase usage compared to other venues.)

Why was there such a surplus? Were they dynamic(ly?) pricing them or were they just not projecting to sell all the PSLs?

I have no idea the actual reason but i would bet a good chunk of the sales are to people from the Oakland area and not Las Vegas. They probably created their projection based on LV

Or use $228M for public schools. Or social services.
It's gonna be pretty hard to justify public funding for stadiums when there is this kind of private money out there willing to finance stadiums. Maybe Vegas is somewhat the exception with a lot of corporate/casino support buying these PSL/tickets up, but LA is also doing it without much public funding.

The Las Vegas public had nothing to do with the Stadium money, therefore it would never go to them. A tourist tax was set up specifically for the stadium. Basically a 1% room tax on hotels that visitors pay. The tourism industry is footing the bill.

They can literally choose to spend that tax money on anything else other than stadium.

Fear not, Raiders fans, ‘Black Hole’ will live on in Las Vegas

Raiders President Marc Badain noted that 40 percent of those who purchased the sold out personal seat licenses for Allegiant Stadium are from outside Nevada.

Of those, around 7,000 fans — or 13 percent of the 55,000 PSLs sold at Allegiant Stadium — owned season tickets at Oakland Alameda Coliseum.

And the south end zone seems to be the new Black Hole

Raiders are now officially Las Vegas Raiders.

surprised they didn’t wait until new league year started. But common sense wins out. For once.

Would be kinda awkward if there is a delay in stadium opening and they have to go back to Oakland for another season. Or even another couple games. Rumor being they are having an issue with the roof.
