Previously, the league said that it wouldn't schedule games on Dec. 25 for the 2024 season because matchups aren't typically played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Yet the NFL's Christmas Day telecasts were notably successful last season, compelling a change on that stance.

NFL dominates vs any sport. 1/17 is way more valuable or meaningful than 1/82 for NBA which is their main rival that day.

Issue is the rest days before/after games. From Albert Breer, he says that since they have 2 Sat games the weekend before, they will have those 4 teams to draw from to play on Wed, making it essentially the same as a Sun/Thur game in terms of rest for the participants. So, they have to choose wisely for those stand alone matchups.

The weekend before Xmas is week 15. I believe all byes were done by week 14, so wonder if they give those 4 clubs who play the Xmas games that week for their bye. Then they come out of the bye playing 2 games in 5 days and then have a 10 day break before their next Sunday game.

They have to give the Christmas teams the week before as their bye in order for this to work perfectly.

Not necessarily. Sat to Wed turnaround is the same as a Sun/Thur turnaround.
So, they don't need to have the Sunday prior as a bye week. And this Xmas game would be the start of week's games.
But, you probably will see the teams involved be given a week 2 Sundays before Xmas game to rest up. I mean, if you have to play Sun, the 15th, Sat, the 21st, and then Wed, the 25th that is 3 games in 11 days. If you get a bye for Dec 15th, then you do the 2 games and get a 11 day break before the Jan 2025 game.

Problem with that is that the Saturday games in mid-December aren't determined until the middle of the season.

Something the NFL has to figure out as there are logistics and planning when you are getting to the holiday season. Because those Sat games teams are going to be the Xmas teams as well.
Yes, they may end up with a Den/LAR game from 2022 year on Xmas which was a blowout.

This is also the stretch drive for teams, so to have a crammed scheduled at that point of the season is going to be really tough. I mean, Dallas typically does the Sunday, then Thanksgiving, then the next TNF game. That's 3 games in 12 days. Sun to the second Wed is only 11 days for those 3 games.

f***ing stupid but the NFL is a Leviathan that’ll eventually have games on every day of the week.
