How about Connor McMichael? If Connor McDonald can't do it (even if you pro-rate), no one probably will until the next lockout.

That doesn't make the distribution of scoring was the same. Top players got a ton of PP time and that inflated their scoring pretty dramatically.Scoring this year is virtually identical to 05-06. 6.08 gpg compared to 6.16.
Never again because there has not and will not be another 18-year old player of his caliber.never again because that would ruin Sid's legacy and we can't have that can we
Crosby had 61 PP points in 07 I believe, which is the most, though I guess that is including 06-07Sid/Ovi were a perfect storm that year. Generational prospects, a lot of players getting accustomed to new rules + some taking time off during the lockout, scoring way up, and PP opportunities off the charts (which really helps the star players). Ovechkin had 52 PP points that year and Crosby had 47. Both of those are higher totals than any player (rookie or veteran) since 2007/08, except for Kucherov last year who had 48.
Even though scoring is creeping up closer to what it was in 2005/06, a lot still has to go right. 85 is the best rookie season since 2005/06, which was done by both Malkin and Barzal. McDavid was the only other one over a point per game, and even someone as talented as him was only on pace for 87 points over a full season.
I meant since the 2007/08 season. So like from 2008/09 on, the most PP points in a season was Kucherov with 48.Crosby had 61 PP points in 07 I believe
Lafreniere could do it I think, he’s an extremely smart player and is both a playmaker and goal scorer, that versatility will help him if his linemates end up being trash.
Yep misread you, thought you said since 05-06I meant since the 2007/08 season. So like from 2008/09 on, the most PP points in a season was Kucherov with 48.

Almost 40% yes though, lol. That was a poll directly after Laine had a 50 point season 3 years into his career. The hype has fallen a lot from his draft year.
Will Hughes & Kakko become version 2.0 of Matthews & Laine during their rookie seasons?
Makar will still be a whole tier ahead of Hughes thoughQuinn Hughes and Cale Makar will both reach 100 pts this season. Nobody will agree on which of the two was more impressive on getting to the milestone.
