The first Major League movie was light years a better movie than the 2nd, but damned if it didn’t have some incredible bits. Granted the first time I watched I was probably 12, But Bob Ueker opining that an outfielder would “ need a rocket up his ass to catch that one” as the play by play guy was one of the hardest laughing fits I’ve ever had.

I still can’t get past using the “Yellowstone” joke in commercials for the first movie, cutting it, and then putting it in the second movie. All of my friends and I recited the joke opening night because we were that familiar with the trailers for the first one.

Also after living in Milwaukee for a couple of years, Ueker wasn’t as obvious as his role but he would deadpan some jokes in his PBP that would slip right by if you weren’t paying attention.

To me they follow the same arc as Harry Potter. First books/episodes are all time classics, lots of fun, easily digestible, can’t look away. By the end it’s like, OK just kill everyone off so I can get on with my life.

Making Robb marry some battlefield medic in the show instead of a poor choice of a princess does feel like a betrayal of the whole medieval Europe-ish premises and ethos.
