I am shawct that there are people out there who don't like Paul McCartney

Got nothing against the man, and like most of his other songs, but lets not pretend that one is some masterpiece. Its like his record label needed a Christmas song and he whipped up a song in 5 minutes to satisfy a contract.

You realize that taste is subjective, and everything you shit on is always something that someone else legitimately loves, right? Just checking.

I think the greater point we're all overlooking here is that all Christmas music will grate people endlessly after a while, with the possible exception of TSO.
I like a ton of the classic, more religious stuff and will play it way out of season from time to time. But some modern pop "christmas*" songs can send me into a rage simply hearing them once.

*Songs may or may not have an extremely tangential relationship with the birth of Jesus.

I listen to Colbert Christmas every year. Some great tunes here, this one a critique of christmas music in general, written of course by the recently passed Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, since everything we talk about here builds on itself

My lot has a Christmas song called "Swine".

It's about the swine becoming ham, the man eating the ham, and finally, as the night progresses, becoming a swine in the full cycle of life.

I cannot overemphasize the sanity-preserving quality of the song among the usual santa&elves crap Christmas song fare.

Wait, this song implies that the celebration of Christmas is an act of mass cannibalism against until-recent neighbors?

Merry Christmas from the Family is a must listen in December in our family.

Yep. I see REK everytime I can when he comes to the triangle. Usually puts on a great show. Saw his countdown to Christmas show at the Carolina Theatre in Durham last December.
