We're nine points behind WSH for first in the Metro with a game in hand.
Or, if you consider PIT the team to beat by percentage (which, amazingly, you probably should), we're eight points back with four head-to-head matchups to come.
We're also only two points clear of 16th overall FLA with one game in hand.
All it's ever been about is taking care of business. Scoreboard/standings watching will make you nuts.
Scoreboard watching is pointless. It doesn't matter where you are on Feb. 12th, only on April 4th.
The 'Canes have 72 points with 23 games remaining. 12-6-5 record=29 points=101 points. If that isn't enough to make the playoffs, what more can you do? It'll be interesting to read the narratives if that does occur, but I don't think it will. One of Carolina, Philadelphia, New York or Columbus is going to fall off.
For the 'Canes, the biggest hurdle will be that they have only 8 games against non-playoff teams remaining: Rags,
@Mon,
@NJ, @Det, @Buf, Buf, Ott,
@NJ. Tor twice, NYI twice, Bos twice, Pitts times 4.... at least the big guns are getting hot at the right time.
