Evander Kane was sued by a hotel in Vegas because he didn't pay a bunch of money he owed them.
He was fined for pushing down a referee.
He created those dumb billboards in Buffalo.
He took those dumb photos with stacks of money, multiple times.
Kane skipped practice because he decided to get hammered at the NBA All-Star game instead.
There were assault allegations from a friend.
There were assault charges from a woman who lived in his building.
There was another set of assault charges stemming from a nightclub.
He was also sued for not paying a woman money after she had multiple abortions at his behest.
Evander Kane has filed for bankruptcy because he's a gambling addict.
There were rumors that he also didn't pay his bills at various restaurants in Winnipeg.
Kane and Dinamo Minsk mutually parted ways during one of the lockout seasons.
There was that "homophobic" tweet about Chris Bosh.
The track suit incident where he violated team rules and Byfuglien threw his clothes in the shower.

This is a guy that has had multiple issues with teams, teammates, the NHL, banks, casinos, and everyday people. Normally good people don't have these types of issues.

Bad at being a teammate? Check
Bad at gambling? Check
Bad at marriage? Check
Bet against his own team? We don't know. But he wouldn't be the first guy who had an estranged spouse make some outlandish claims on social media.

I agree. Without proof it's an allegation and nothing more. With that said, I wouldn't have or want him on any team I was involved in on any level.

Agreed. He seems like too much of a hassle.

A good portion of that was there and SJ still traded for him…

I still can't get over how much Francis butchered that expansion draft. I just read an article breaking some things down. Most glaringly, taking Vanecek and trading him back to the Caps for a 2nd when they could have taken Brendan Dillon and traded him for 2 2nds. Also, I read they even made a rookie mistake on Grubauer's contract and it was kicked back. They had to restructure it and file it again. Can't help to think they let several obvious golden opportunities slip away.

And finally, to hear Francis respond that teams didn't want to make the same mistakes as they did with Vegas by paying them to not take assets....then actually TAKE those assets...duh! He seems like such a tool to me.

Glad some teams learned their lessons. Francis is a moron if this team isn't competitive btw

Brutal!

Did you see the part about them taking UFA Gavin Bayreuther from Columbus who, well, simply re-signed with Columbus as free agent?

That's even a spit in the face to all the teams that actually lost something.

It was such a bumbling result...I keep hoping there's a method to their madness but I just don't see it. It's really confusing and hard to accept...

Over on the Leaf's board there's a thread, something about 'What has been the Leaf's biggest mistake?' and, although I didn't go through all the posts, the overriding theme seems to be:

The signing of pajama boy, and the letting go of Lou.

Gotta admit, this makes me happy for some reason. :thumbu:

Edit-There's also a couple of posts about 'should've jumped on Trotz when he became available'

It's Gold Jerry.....GOLD!

There's one guy on there, "dekes for days", who is adamant that "all the stats" prove that the Leafs are a great playoff team. He's famous for cutting someone's three paragraph post to a (frequently out of context) half a sentence, to 'reply' to.

According to him, our biggest mistake was 'letting' pajama boy go, because with his added offence we would have easily beaten Tampa the last two years.:sarcasm:

Great playoff team? Lmao

They win the fancy stats award for best fancy stats maybe

In terms of actually winning though? They suck

Did you tell him after writing his usual long winded delusional essay that the offence we missed was actually from Anders Lee and not Pajama Boy, BTW we would not be able to fit in Pageau and Nelson which ironically would equal the 11M that Loser boy would cost.

Lou didn’t win in Toronto either probably because of the layers of so called experts in their management who have a say on how money should be sent. You need find an expert you trust and tell everyone to shut up and watch. The fishbowl in Toronto is polluted and no one with any credibility will want to work there.

I remember that particular poster riding the "Isles are a product of their goaltending" well into last season. I haven't read anything of his since. But it was the same old arguments to support the false narratives... Isles are nothing but a talentless team relying on unsustainable performances.

I truly have NO PROBLEM with advanced stats. They are just another metric tool to gain a different perspective on a situation. My issue is THOSE posters take current advanced metrics as some kind of final foolproof indicator. They are the kind of poster that will champion the latest metrics (ie. CORSI) only to scoff at them when a newer metric supplants it at a later date(ie. XG%). Yet we must suffer the belligerence of their arguments as absolute. Basically they're a bunch of Dom Luszczyszyns.

"My model proves THIS! Well THIS didn't happen, so it must mean that it's only a matter of time until THIS does happen!"

How about these metrics are all relatively nascent. And there is need to be patient and accepting that SOME outliers to your model may actually indicate areas where the metrics need to be further improved? Bye Felicia's to you all!

ok, RANT mode disengaged! :sarcasm:

One of my favorites is the "high danger" shots. Because they use a defined area, a weak shot from the slot with the goalie squared and a defenceman wrapped around you counts as one, but a cross-ice pass to Ovechkin for a one-timer doesn't, because his 'office' is a foot outside.

They are getting better, but still....

the sad part is that even when the isles go further than other teams, people act like the players still aren't talented. good teams stay consistent, and this teams been there three years now. That's good consistency
