Other one hit 1,000.

It's Masters week, do you think anyone on the team could beat Tiger Woods at golf?

Does Whitney count since he's a scout? Pretty sure he's a scratch golfer. And can make it through a couple rounds without his back giving out.

Definitely Skinner, he has about 6 offseasons full of golf. Hainsey is probably the GOAT, but his skills will be put on hold ATM.

Cam should be decent as well, but Aaron Ward is actually a member at a country club, should I got money on him.

I think we could jinx Hainsey like this, and he will get injured in last game of season lol

I hope not..

Teravainen's prolly gonna at least train the whole summer in case the chance for attempting that ever rose up.

Of course it is a bit of open question at this point on which team he exactly will play the next season. But, then again, the whole premise was an Open question.

I just saw this in FB coming from Sharks fans:

CAR - Couture
SJS - Galchenyuk, Fleury, McCarron
MTL - Vlasic, Rask

Sharks got hosed pretty bad but i'd swap Rask for Couture fairly easily. If they decide to move Vlasic and Couture and start something new, i guess they worth much much more than this.

information related to "Coach Billy Bob" should be kept strictly to a need-to-know basis and reserved exclusively for the most heinous trade board arguments, to be deployed as a rhetorical smoke bomb to get out of arguments from logical cul de sacs.

That's one Southern Shadow Warrior who's gonna pull "Ah don't think Coach Billy Bob would go with that" and just disappear in the aftermath.

One of the best burgers I've ever had was in Augusta. Had pimento cheese on it. 10/10 would eat again.

I love pimento cheese on my burgers....best of all I don't have to travel to GA to get one. Grill up that puppy and slather on some Palmetto Pimento Cheese w/Jalapenos and you're in hog heaven....or is that cow heaven....I get so confused.

I'm not sure why the Sharks would do that. It's a true "blow it up" move for a team that's not THAT badly set going forward.

I was about to jump in a contradict you Tar because of the impending Thorton and Marleau free agency. Then I went and looked over their roster.....and well, I'm still sorta gonna contradict you.

They look to have a very good back end right now with Burns, Vlasic, et. al. Throw in Jones and Dell in net and that's going to be a good defense for a while (although Martin is aging). They've also got the mercurial Mueller who could be pretty good and Jeremy Roy, who probably will be very good although he did have a pretty bad knee injury back in the Fall. Still they appear to be set there.

They've got a nice offensive core in Pavelski, Couture, Boedker, and Hertl. Some might throw Donskoi in that group but he fell back to earth hard this season. Chris Tierney probably tops out as a 3rd/4th line tweener. But with the aforementioned Thorton and Marleau both up in the air and both 37 years old, I think that's a shaky group going forward. They've kind of got a couple of guys playing with the 'Cudas in O'Regan and Chartier, but those guys are big unknowns. Timo Meier hasn't proven to be power forward he was in the Q, but there's a lot of time for the 20 year old.

Down in juniors/NCAA you're looking at Noah Gregor who probably projects more as 3rd liner at the top end. Perhaps their most exciting forward prospect is Dylan Gambrell who has put up 86 points in 77 games at Univ. of Denver.

In the end, this is a long-winded (shocker I know) way of saying the Sharks might not be ready for a tear down, but some sort of retooling after this season wouldn't be the worst option for them. Given Thorton's and Couture's injury, another run at the Cup appears to be in jeopardy. You've got to think Jumbo Joe and Marleau were looking at this season as their last, best bite at the apple.

Just thinking through the UFA class and who we might think about as far as making this team a little tougher to play against.

LW Dwight King 27
LW Milan Michalek 32
LW Scottie Upshall 33
LW Kris Versteeg Viktor Stalberg 31
LW Daniel Winnik 32

C Nick Bonino 28
C Martin Hanzal 30
C Brian Boyle 32

RW Patrick Eaves 32
RW TJ Oshie 30
RW Ryan White 29
RW Tommy Wingels 28

Any takers on these? I realize some of them will be asking for much higher price tags and playing bigger roles than others. Just thinking about ways to add some size/grit to the lineup.

Steeger didn't bring much grit the last time he was here so I'd cross him off.

Would be cool with any of Hanzal, Wingels, or Winnik. As well as bringing Stalberg back.

 I'll fess up, I got Stalberg and Versteeg mixed up when I was copying over the list.

Needless to say, Stalberg is the one I had in mind there. Versteeg is anything but hard to play against.

How about Chris Kunitz on a short-term deal? He’s a little older at 37 and now past his prime, however, he could still bring some grit and winning experience/leadership to the lineup. Kunitz at one time was a linemate of Staal, so there is connection to the organization.

I was kind of thinking about him too, but listening to Pens fans it doesn't sound like he has a lot left in the tank. I could be wrong though, you know how fans bash on their own players.

I don't know. The last few times I've seen him, he's looked pretty bad. He'll be 38 to start next season with quite a bit of tread on him.

Id take stalberg back and add bonino as a 3rd line center if we don't get a 1C. Obviously would like TJ Sochi (RIP Olympics), but that just isn't happening. Dwight King is another interesting one.

Oshie is literally the perfect player, but I don't even want to think about what kind of crazy money we'd have to offer to get him here.

Imagine this team adding a skilled winger who plays an edgy physical game and is also a shootout specialist. Le sigh...

Yeah, he would be a good fit and like you said, it would take huge money but also somehow convince him that the Canes were a team that would be competitive. Not sure money is enough for some of these guys.
