200 level is nice but some of the back rows have the chase bridge hanging down

I have A bit of time in the post Thanksgiving weekend and a few random thoughts came to mind.
I was the guy who thought long and hard about giving up his seats after 25+ years as a subscriber.
I wrestled with the thought that I could never replace my center ice row 2 seats. I would probably be unwilling to pay the price to attend the "classic playoff games".
On the downside, the kids no longer go to the games. I attend ... maybe 2 a year. My interest to be there isn't quite at the level it was 1/4 century ago.
The team was attempting some kind of rebuild so economics became a very strong factor against renewing. The hassle of continuing to be a ticket broker wasn't appealing (try selling a game on stubhub and remembering to forward tix at a later date?).
The final straw was that my seat prices doubled since the renovation. At the same time the opening game price (as an example) has contracted by 20% over the past few years. My pre season tix sales prices remains unchanged in the $50 range per tix despite the face price doubling. I believe the dynamic pricing really hasn't affected tix prices that much. Sure, customers won't pay much over face for low interest games and they seem unwilling to pay premiums on hot games. In the end, total sales prices are averaging lower despite higher costs. I suspect this would have been the case if level pricing was used.
This is all conjecture. I am projecting 2018 sales prices based on what I see on the exchanges. Maybe I've underestimated the demand? I do help a friend who has had tix downstairs for 50 years and 2018 to date has not been kind to him. Perhaps a winning team will alter the outcome?
Perhaps, the Rangers will win the cup this year and the excitement will return? At that point I will be jealous for not hanging on. The decision I had to make was based on a rebuilding period, buying MSG tix (to be resold) on a team whose tix are priced as a stanley cup contender. Maybe if I attended my attitude would be different?

I'm visiting New York for Wrestlemania next year and will also be looking at catching a Rangers game as well. The only game that would work would be April 5th vs Columbus.

Yes... I gave them up.
I wasn't going. The kids weren't going. My partner was no longer very interested. I used maybe 2 tix per year.
I was the tix broker. The margins I received from selling tix was shrinking every year. Last year, after exhibs I lost a few dollars.
My thinking...$135 cost + $10 exhibs (amortized) + $15 (selling fees) = $160 per game to break even.
Great seats but $160 for a rebuilding team? After the turn around first stop is $180/$200 adjusted break even? Early playoff games in recent years = breakeven. I believed that the tix would sell at $125 average at best
As I said , I need to remember to put up the tix, not sell the games twice, keep changing prices, deliver the tix, etc for the Stanley cup lottery.
I'm 66, and don't need/want the hassle. Are the selling rules changing within the states? If the team excels then sure... I left some dollars on the table. If not, then why am I involved? So....I gave up being a ticket broker.
