This is a follow up to the successful North American Hockey League.

The North American Hockey League commissioner's office decided to fold. However, the core 10 teams wanted to stay together but reshuffle the decks.

With the inclusion of a few more teams they decided to find a new commissioner and create the league all over again. Sticking with the teams they had from previous leagues, they decided this was the league that would be the future of hockey in all of North America.

Basic Rundown

Phase 1 - Fantasy Draft
  • There will be a fantasy draft of 20 rounds, with 12-14 teams picking per round.
  • The draft order will be snaked.
  • The fantasy draft will be used to fill out the NNHL rosters.
  • Any players that are not drafted in the fantasy draft will be put into free agency.
  • GM's that decide on their club will inherit their team's real life farm system.

Phase 2 - Commencement of the 2010-2011 Season
  • The season picks up 2 weeks before the trade deadline.
  • ALL TRADES MUST BE SENT TO ME FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO BEING ACCEPTED.
  • Teams will use this time to mold their team before the playoff run.

Phase 3 - Playoffs
  • Since it is a small league, 12-14 teams (with 6-7 teams per conference obviously) only 4 teams from each conference will make the playoffs.
  • Teams will be divided based on Eastern and Western Conference Standings in association with the National Hockey League
  • Playoff rounds will be determined based off votes, with following seasons potentially being changed to some other deciding factor.

Phase 3 - Offseason
  • The offseason will then commence.
  • The NHL Entry draft will be held using the 2011 draft class.
  • Free Agency then follows, again using the 2011 free agent class.

Things of Note
  • The Salary Cap is $77.5 million
  • When creating rosters, only count caphits. Caphits can be found using http://www.capgeek.com
  • There is no need to factor in bonuses when calculating your team's payroll
  • Potential GM's will be voted on by the 10 core members of the previous league to determine merit
  • Any more questions/concerns feel free to PM myself

If you are interested in becoming a potential GM then post it in here and we will begin voting.

It seems the general consensus amongst the core teams is 12 people.

I am actually going to do this differently than I originally planned.

Instead of sending out 500 PM's asking about each individual person I am going to send out 1 PM with a list of 5-7 potential GM's and ask the core group to pick their 2.

I'm going to leave this running for maybe a day or so before I start sending out PM's to people so we can at least get 5 candidates to choose from.

Alright, remember guys I am looking for a list of anywhere between 5-10 possible new GM's to send out to the other 9 already in the game to decide which one's they want in this one.

Alright I am waiting on a response from one more person.

I should be home from work mid-day tomorrow and will hopefully send the lists out by then and get them back by tomorrow night or Sunday.
