It is pretty fitting how Hischier scored last night on them and also the HUGE gwg the last time we played. We split the series with them on the season but Nico gets the nod for contributing big in those two wins. Obviously Hall was the huge story last night but it's oh so sweet seeing Nico stick it to the Flyers in any way.

Could you imagine if we took Patrick and he was sitting at 5 goals and 8 assists? While Nico was in Philly with 30+ points? Oi vey.
I dont even want to think about that !!!!!!!!!!
you know with all the bad calls we've been getting this season and the bad luck, we can't forget the luck we had in the draft and getting Nico, it's gonna be years of goodness !

It would be Zacha/Barzal on steroids.

I do think Patrick’s numbers would be better here cause there’s less of a logjam at his position while Nico might not be getting as much ice time there but man, NP was supposed to be the more NHL-ready prospect.

I am more and more impressed by Nico each and every game.

He's going to be so fun to watch next season with a year of experience under his belt.
He and Zacha, they both impress with their determination on the back check. Love seeing that from young centers.

It's not something that is easily noticed when watching players, so I do focus on those 2 way more then an opposing player like Patrick, but given our guys both have good possession #'s, I figure they are above/well above average in the defensive department.

Not sure if I'm the only one that caught this but here's the freeze frame from msg on the too many men penalty early on. Can we count the flyers here?

dammit why cant i upload pics right... unless I missed something they had 6 guys clearly on. it didnt turn out to affect the outcome but still, refs.

if he's not our second line center of the future i'd consider that a disappointment unless he lights it up as a top 6 wing

Up until the last 20 games, he was looking like a disappointment, especially compared to those drafted around him (Marner, Werenski, Provorov, Rantanen, Hanifin, Barzal). I really hope he has turned a corner for good.

Not sure if I agree with Patrick putting up similar numbers. He is clearly getting better and recovering from his injury(sounds like we say this every year), but I think Nico would have moved up in that Flyers lineup quickly on that team...not #1C tho with Couturier playing well this year.

Nolan Patrick to me so far from what I've seen reminds me of a Zajac with perhaps better vision. Looks like a #~2C in the making with average speed. Haven't seen the shot he was known to have yet. It is funny how NP was supposed to be the more NHL ready like you said compared to Nico. It's still early however.

We truly needed someone like Nico to play #1C with Hall who is dynamic and can keep up. Nico at 19 already has great vision, speed, hands, playmaking, he's got it all. We have similar players like NP to me, but didn't have anyone like Nico. Experts and clearly Shero and the staff felt similiar.

I like the idea of Nico staying in NJ like Zacha and putting on more weight and becoming more comfortable. He's going to be great.

I noticed this during the game, pretty sure since we touched the puck it doesn’t matter

Im over the idea of possibly moving him to wing. The relatively safe nature of his game is that of a center.

Edit: But yeah if he is not a top 6 guy for the next 8+ years then that will be a dissapointment.

gotchya, makes sense

Problem with that play is Nico actively jumped into the play before Zajac was technically off. The extra Flyers guy -- I didn't see the picture -- probably had absolutely nothing to do with the play, but Nico definitely slowed up the Flyers rush before Zajac was off.

I had the flu and all I wanted to do was sleep, the same this morning. Even though I recorded it on my DVR I couldn't stay awake long enough to watch the replay. Kinkaid was sharp in the shootout. But the offense won the game with Hall as the Star again. Whatever the outcome of this season we all got to appreciate how terrific Hall is on the ice. I sincerely hope he stays interested in the Devils.

Let's be a little bit reasonable here.

1. Twitter is an open platform, and this is KK's official Twitter page. It's not like Glen was trolling his private facebook account or something.
2. Glen's post was entirely about KK's play in net, it was not personal in any way.
3. KK could easily block, mute, or just ignore critics on Twitter if he wants.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Glen did. I don't personally do this kind of thing because athletes like to remind their critics how small they are (which is essentially what KK's response was, it wasn't some amazing clapback). Remember when people were criticizing LBJ after the NBA finals in 2011 and he said something to the effect of "they have to go back to their crappy lives"? Yeah, I just don't need to hear that stuff, so I wouldn't open myself up to it.

He has. Present company included and I've never tweeted him directly. :D

of course he can do it, and at least he did it in a respectful way. it was still pretty cringey though

It was only cringey because you know me here on the boards.

If it was some random jabronie out in internet land, you'd be like "Who the hell is this schmuck?"

no i think people are objecting to tweeting at the goalie, not about him, that he wasn’t good enough why would you heckle your own goalie after a win

You call what I did "heckling"?

Really?

I don't think my tweet was derisive toward Keith. I only echoed what he already knows : Play better.

And what I mean is Play Better ALL GAME LONG. Don't wait for OT/Shootout to do it.

I believe there are services that maintain block lists based on account profiles (i.e. who you follow, and who follows you). I'm blocked by some because I follow Nick Mullen.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply in my case. I don't follow anyone not hockey or sports related.

Thats a pretty doushy thing to do... just saying... no class whatsoever.

Idc who the athlete is, it's rude.
Would you like someone tweeting you saying you suck at your job and you need to improve.
Have you ever played goalie in a league? If not you have no right to offer any criticism. Even if you did/do (like myself), he's in the nhl and your not. Ead and get a life.
