I'm still trying to figure out what a Minnesota Wild is? Is it a person, place or thing?

It's in reference to the remote natural areas of northern Minnesota, even though the team plays five hours south in the Twin Cities.

It's too bad that Dallas took the North Stars, that was an awesome franchise with a great name and great jerseys. I really like Minnesota and the Twin Cities, but (even years before the whole Parise thing) I couldn't bring myself to root for the Wild with such a dumb name and such a busy, cartoonish logo. Back in 2003, the only people in Minneapolis I'd see wearing Wild gear were the homeless. I guess a lot of it was bought for people by grandmas, and then given away.

The Wild's new high school inspired jerseys are a huge improvement, but they're still stuck with that dumb name.
