Look back at my previous posts to verify if I have been accurate in the past.

Very good inside information that there will not only be a new ownership group taking over in the near future, but the site of the new arena will be where the mckellips casino AZ currently is (101 & 202 junction). It will be demo'd and a new arena built there.

I can semi play into this. As the arena site and or deal is so preliminary, it shouldn't even be discussed.

The "potential" new ownership group should be pleural since there is more than one "group." But even then this is all very very speculative.

Well, we all know how well things go when people try to run matters by committee, so thumbs up.

I'm not the one in the know here, but that location is very close to ASU's campus but not on their campus or land. So I would bet it would be a similar situation to what ASU is currently doing with GRA where they'd play big games there.
Based on everything I've heard/read it seems like a good idea except for one thing, arenas usually need to be built downtown to be successful. Would it work outside the core like that?

Majority of the population is on this side of the valley. It helps that you have it on the freeways there as well. If I'm the Coyotes I would also start a shuttle service from the nearest light rail stop as there is one only about 5-10 minutes away. It's just a lot easier to access this side of the valley.

The simplest way of saying it would be that while this isn't exactly downtown, it's easily accessible by the majority of the Valley

This area is a couple miles northeast of Tempe which is downtown 2.0, and more thriving than downtown Phoenix. Add in 100,000 ASU students that would help weeknight game attendance, greater proximity for east valley fans (75% of the STHers) and this is best location for a new arena in the Phoenix metro area.

Really hope everything you stated @yotefan4life life is true.

My cousins live in Scottsdale so I hope they stay.
Both for their sake and if I wanna visit, I can go to a game.

Heard things had picked up/progressed as of late but with no specifics so this is reassuring for sure.

This is a better location the Glendale or downtown. The funny part is, the original location Elman was pitching was not too far from there at Scottsdale and McDowell roads. Easy access for Paradise Vallley/North Scottsdale and suburbs east of Tempe.

Not to throw any shade on this but rumors come and go. One of the reasons why the Coyotes have kept a clamp on any arena talk is because of the circus that preceded it.

So there’s something concrete to go on let’s keep it as a rumor discussion.

Extend the light rail to the arena, even.

2 miles from nearest light rail station, 3 miles from downtown Tempe, 3 miles from downtown Scottsdale, 9 miles from downtown Phoenix, 9 miles from Paradise Valley, 10 to 15 miles from Ahwatukee and Chandler vs 25 to 35 miles from any high density / affluent / downtown area and zero public transit options.

Hopefully not too far from the fanbase in Glendale/the West Valley.

Yet, Downtown Phoenix is O miles from the nearest LR and O miles from downtown. And, let's face it, LR sucks. The Eastside fan base who the team so longs to accommodate aren't riding LR in from non-existent NE side routes. They certainly aren't riding it with drunken bums, and their corn flaked beards.

I can appreciate thee Eastside fan base wanting it closer than DT Phoenix, but to say it's better than DT Phoenix seems emotional, not logical.

It is.

The trip from Scottsdale to Glendale now is what those in Peoria/Surprise/Glendale will have if this arena is built where it’s rumored to be.

But that’s the caveat you have with a large metro area.

I cant reveal sources for obvious reasons, and this is in NO WAY set in stone, but it is 100% the course that is being attempted right now. The previous ownership groups did not play nice with the tribes that own the land, and the new group attempting to purchase/run with this is playing nice to the point of taking "tribal background and history" classes (not a joke).

Believe me or don't, my previous "rumors" if you want to call them that, have been pretty accurate. I will of course relay any new information I get along the way.
