I was there with my now wife, buying lower bowl tickets to see my childhood hero take the ice again. Instead, Forsberg retires and we lose 9-1. Iginla and Tanguay both score for the Flames, while Winnik is the lone scorer for the Avs. We had lost 8 in a row and 10-of-11 at that point, and Duchene leaves the game with a hand injury.

I remember even the Flames fans left early that game.

See guys? Maybe we shouldn't be so down on the Avs this season.

Man, that was a rough night....depressing enough my favorite player makes a comeback and plays just 2 games where hes the best player on the ice then decides to retire, but then we get slaughtered. Easily my worst memory as an Avs fan

I remember turning it off after the first period and going to bed angry. The next morning when I found out the result I was actually glad that it wasn't double digits.

Back-to-back Wild last year to open the season was the worst. And I've been here this whole time. Not just that they were shut-out, but that they were giving a preview of the next two seasons. Ugly stuff.
