NESN’s ratings for Bruins games up 49 percent from last season - The Boston Globe

Through 56 telecasts this season, Bruins games on the network are averaging a 3.49 household rating.

That is a 49 percent increase compared to the same number of telecasts last season, and its highest overall rating to this point in the schedule in four seasons.

The telecasts have seen even more growth in specific demographics. Ratings are up 94 percent (1.96 rating) among adults 18-34 compared to last year. The 1.96 rating in that demo is the highest it has been since the 2013-14 season.

Among women 25-54, ratings have increased 89 percent year-to-date with a 1.86 rating, also the highest to this point since 2013-14.

Also, the telecast’s 2.62 rating among adults 25-54 is a 55 percent increase compared to this time last season.

No reason they wouldn’t be. Dramatic finals run best team in the league and a superstar that ‘may ’ be the best player in the league.

Just a thought.....

Wouldn’t it be great if NESN spent the hiatus alternating showing a different Bruins and Red Sox important or extremely entertaining game each night?

Like the B’s - Stars line brawl game one night and Pedro’s 19 K game vs. NYY the next?

We have just restored a game from 50 years ago - Game 1 of 1970 semifinal between the Bruins at Chicago. Transferring old 2 inch videotapes is a tedious process and is a labor of love of older engineers to do so. More tapes will be restored at the museum in Woonsocket in the next few weeks because we have the time to do it. It is a VERY tedious process and you have ONE chance to get it right.

Videotape machines 50 years ago were very complicated and today trying to restore old RCA and Ampex machines is a challenge because you need to make the parts from scratch.

End result
