Fleury and Necas down, Bishop up...would rather see Roy and I thought Necas looked good over the past 2 games but what do I know:

I'm fine with sending Necas down if it means he can get more adjusted to the North American rinks.

    I'd rather see Roy too.

What are they clearing roster space for? Even if darling comes back that 2 extra spots.

Bishop? 4th line grinder? Is he good PK-er at least?

Btw. We have six players from 2012 draft: Slavin, Teravainen, Martinook, McGinn, PDG and Carrick. Frk is also from this draft.

Bishop is a really good PKer. But yeah I can't see this being for Bishop long-term, and they'd still have a roster spot regardless unless they haven't put one of Darling/Rask on IR

Checkers don’t play till Friday so it doesn’t seem like just a paper move to get Necas/Fleury an extra game.

They will probably make their next move tomorrow when PDG either does or doesn’t clear waivers. I’m good with letting Fleury/Necas develop in the AHL and cementing Zykov’s roster spot. They now just need to find the right fit for Necas’s spot until Rask is ready.

Wow, that set of moves surprises me on multiple fronts.

That's definitely not what I expected in any way. It's probably best for Fleury since he's not getting in right now. It's not a bad thing for Necas either if they clearly don't trust him. I thought he looked a bit better that last couple of games, but nothing wrong with him hopefully carrying that play into some production and playing time in Charlotte. Bishop being called up is mildly surprising, but at least there's no worries if he's playing 6-10 minutes, and he can probably be a decent role player. I've found the love affair with Roy to be a bit much, so I don't really care that it's not him. If he plays well enough, he'll get his shot, but I'm glad to see they aren't making decisions off of one good weekend. Let Roy, Kuokkanen, et al. that hopefully have higher upsides keep honing their skills in Charlotte for now.

Dundon realized he was going to have to spend money on another framed first goal plaque for Necas so quickly sent him down.

I know this is unlikely, but could this be for the purpose of having Necas and Fleury play with the Checkers on Friday and then come back? Get some real ice time on Friday and then sit in the press box for Saturday?

That or HCRB'A felt personally threatened by Necas after that Top Golf outing.

There has to be more moves coming. We now have no healthy scratches.

I mean if Necas and Fleury are the scratches. It won’t really matter if they’re even at the arena.

Not if they were being remotely truthful about the initial injury.

Not sure what to make of all this, but I guess we'll all just have to see.

I think Bishop can be a really good 4th line center. I was very surprised by how much he has developed in just 1-2 years. He definitely has the skating ability to play in the NHL.

When a team names their two preseason squads “Grit & Grind”, sending down skill guys who are still learning in favor of grinders should shock no one.

Yeah, I have no problem with sending Necas down. Let him play 18 minutes a game down there. Fleury, on the other hand, is a bit surprising.
