Man...the Patriots...that could be a scary good TE combo.

Makes sense on a lot of levels for the Patriots.

I'm assuming the return is a late round pick.

Nice to have him in the fold, could use that blocking ability. Not quite as big of a red zone target as Marty but still definitely capable

Think he could actually outperform Marty next year even

Yeah Bennett was never coming back, he's gonna get top dollar elsewhere and that's what he should do with this being the last big contract opportunity of his career and him already getting his ring

If Allen can stay healthy the trade will end up even better for them. Plus with Gronks injuries its smart to have a second capable TE on the roster.

Allens a good player but I'm pretty shocked they didn't just use that pick to pull a TE in the draft. It's loaded in that position. But here's BB going against conventional wisdom.

Wouldn't put it past him to still draft a TE to compete with Lengel (or to just have 4 TEs)

Dude loves tight ends

But at the rate that Gronk gets hurt, it's probably smart that they grabbed an NFL starter rather than rely on a rookie.

Good trade for Pats, the free agent TE market is horrid and now they can focus their early round picks on more pressing needs...the defense.

He's average at best. He had a good rookie season but that's where it ends. It sucks though that back in 2012 the Colts had a great idea surrounding rookie quarterback Andrew Luck with 2 tight ends. Much like the Pats did back in the day with Gronk and Hernandez.
