He also ripped players going into the Transfer Portal back in October saying “there’s no transfer portal in real life.”

Michigan State doubled his salary. So on one hand I understand but his recent comments are certainly being thrown back in his face which is understandable too.

The kids should be released from their LOI’s at Colorado but even then it’s so late in the process even being freed up from that probably is still frustrating for the players.

embarrassing comment
seems like every coach who splits for greener [$] pastures has some sort of cringeworthy comment in their recent past about this or "being loyal"

OSU & PSU wrestling dual...

PSU won 20-16. Best bout was Pletcher v. N. Lee. The tall and skinny guy beat the short and stocky guy

NCAA Wrestling Champs will be next month.

Here's how I see things shaking out:

125: S. Lee (Iowa)
133: RBY (PSU)
141: N. Lee (PSU)
149: Sasso (OSU)
157: Deakin (NWU)
165: Joseph (PSU)
174: Hall (PSU)
184: Valencia (ASU)
197: Moore (OSU)
Hwt: Steveson (Minn)

Aside from S. Lee, N. Lee, Deakin, Joseph, Valencia, Moore, and Steveson, I probably wouldn't bet on the others winning. I would be shocked if either S. Lee or Valencia lost. Still think Iowa takes the championship with the most All-Americans, though PSU and OSU might both end up with more individual champions.

One of the best p4p NCAA wrestlers and an Olympics hopeful, Zahid Valencia (ASU), was suspended the other day for testing positive for recreational drug use. Terrible consequence for the young guy. His college career is over and his eligibility for the Olympic trials is in jeopardy.

This means that 184 is wide open as a front runner hasn't really separated from the pack. There's an outside chance that Aaron Brooks (PSU) could win the weight. PSU still in the mix for the national title, though Iowa looks strong.

New Jersey product Sebastian Rivera (NU, 133) had a strong showing at the Big 10 wrestling tournament in front of a home crowd at Rutgers. He beat Seth Gross (Wisc., #1) and Roman Bravo-Young (PSU, #2) on the way to winning the Big 10 championship at his weight.

PSU didn't have the strongest showing. RBY (133), N. Lee (141), Joseph (165) all placed 2nd. These guys need to win if they want a shot at another consecutive NCAA title. Meanwhile, Aaron Brooks (PSU, 184) continues to wrestle well. The true freshman won his first Big 10 tournament! Hall (PSU, 174) also won, avenging a loss to Kemerer (Iowa, #1) at a team dual in the regular season.

Booted from Alabama originally, didn’t last long at Colorado either (never even played for them). Same with Anoma at Houston who’s been kicked out of there too.

He was more physically advanced coming into college so perhaps the XFL could possibly be an option there. He was the #1 rated player in the country by 247sports for the 2019 class.

Hopefully this gets the ball moving some in recruiting for them. It’s kind of been dead-ish around the country though with the shutdowns effecting visits & such.

Ohio State, Clemson, & surprisingly North Carolina have been notable teams that have carried a lot of momentum even with this dead period.
