NCAA gunning for Harbaugh?

Allegations/"indictment" issues have not been given to school. Coach cannot comment, school cannot comment, but NCAA is?

Sounds like the proposed suspension was not agreed to by board that approves such things, so full hearing in 2024?

The NCAA is about as consistent as DoPS when it comes to doling out punishments.
while not wrong, for FB they're much more strict about things than when it comes to other sports because ironically it does less to hurt their bottom line overall. The NCAA doesn't control the bowls or the CFB playoff, so they don't get the financial benefit from it.

their hypocrisy is most evident in MBB. Kansas and UNC should have been absolutely crushed a few years back but got off completely because it's not good for the bottom line to have 2 bluebloods out of the tourney. Guarantee the same (pre-NIL) player payments or fake classes going on at St Mary's or even a West Virginia at the time would have seen the NCAA drop the hammer on those programs, because they don't impact the NCAAs bottom line as much when they're out of the tourney.

The hypocrisy reached an all time high during Mark Emmerts rule. I dont expect it to change with Baker.

Penn State benefitted greatly from the inconsistency.

The whole Paterno/abuse operation should've been an open and shut case for a death penalty level of sanctions like what was done to SMU

He will probably get a few games, but it won't be a big deal as they open the season with East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green and Rutgers, all of which are "gimme" games

Crazy how you get a worse punishment for paying players than abusing children.

Gotta love the NCAA!

The best part of all of it is that Harbaugh will probably coach every game this year and if the NCAA tries to throw the hammer down he'll just leave for the NFL and leave the next guy to deal with it.

I disagree with the entire notion of penalties and sanctions for NCAA teams because the students who aren't involved in a majority of cases end up suffering for the actions of a few idiots at the top. Vacating wins and championships is especially stupid, you simply cannot erase history just someone got caught when the truth is just about every program has its share of shady activity.

If the NCAA can't investigate swiftly and justly then get out of the compliance business. They are a worthless organization when it comes to revenue sport.

The NCAA is pretty toothless these days. The institutions kind of go through the motions so it doesn’t look like they’re entirely ungoverned, but they always fight, and win, when the NCAA hands something down that actually hurts. If Michigan had Michigan State week 3, this would’ve been a 2 game suspension.
