Do we get to control who’s in our pod on a game to game basis? If I win the lottery for a game, can we pass on that game and not be charged? If not, can we resell tickets if I can’t go? When there, can we eat or drink, and if so, without a mask? Once we opt in, can we opt out if we don’t like the experience?

If by opting in, I lose control of where I sit, I don’t control who’s in my pod in an ongoing basis, I have to pay for the tickets if my name gets picked, and once I opt in, I can’t opt out, I think I’ll opt out.

The full house arena experience and sitting around my friends I’ve sat with almost since Day 1, is why I have season tickets. I’m afraid the new experience, while initially cool cuz it’s finally hockey, will feel like a Tuesday night against Calgary circa 2002

Yep- the whole thing is very confusing and just a mess all the way around.

I am excited about hockey returning next week, don't get me wrong- but it is going to be unbelievably depressing watching the Preds play in an empty Bridgestone arena. In addition to having Preds ST, we are also season ticket holders for Alabama basketball. Have been to a couple of games (10% capacity) and it was so depressing I am not sure I will go to another game.

I don't know if it is just me, but watching the NHL playoff games in the bubble without fans was not too bad, but it just seems so much worse when the games are actually in home teams arenas. The crowd/atmosphere is such a huge part of NHL hockey.

I've said this before- I continue to look forward to the day when we can all go sit in Bridgestone and watch the Preds again in a packed house. Who knows when that will be, but whenever it does, it is going to be so incredible- I think it will be one of the best, most memorable sporting events of my lifetime, and I have been to a TON of games in my lifetime.......

Logically speaking I assume it will go like this:

1) The Preds are easy to work with. No way they have a policy where you will get randomly selected for a date TBD and you will get charged even if you can't make it.

2) I'm sure the mask on/off thing will work very similar to other locations I've seen with masks 'always on' policies (i.e. casinos). Basically mask on when not drinking. You don't get to just leave your mask off the entire time just because you have a drink at your seat. Food will be interesting. I figure it's like this. Be a good citizen. If the expectation is to wear a mask then wear a mask unless you need to have it off to eat or drink. Take a bite or two. Reapply mask. This is not going to be the same as previous seasons so if this is going to be a problem for anyone they should opt out.

3) The pod question is interesting. I assumed they would just have pods set up based on party size. Your party is your pod. They will have preallocation of multiple pod sizes and your party size will be part of the random selection for that pod size. So basically yes, you will control your own pod.

I could be totally off on all of these but feel more confident in 1 than I do in 3.

Am I reading too much into this? Does it mean if you decide to attend at all this season that your pricing will increase next season?

‘Your season-ticket price will not increase for the 2021-22 season and your benefits as a Season-Ticket Citizen will not be impacted if you decide not to attend games during the 2020-21 season.’
It is vague. Answers from others were if you opted out, but if I'm reading you right you're asking if you opt IN would your season ticket cost be affected? Probably not, but I'd ask your rep to be on the safe side.
I haven't decided yet but I'm leaning toward opting out. I watched the scrimmage with barely any fans in the audience and while I enjoy seeing my team play, I think it would seem like I was paying a ticket's worth for a preseason game or scrimmage. While I hate not showing my support for the team by physically being there, this experience isn't really worth it for the money nor my health. That said, it IS Preds hockey so if my son wants to go I'll probably opt in. My sister and Mr. Adz both said they would not go and the guy who I went with a lot has moved away. So we'll see. But I'm probably out.

I am leaning towards opting out too. I have been in my section for 12 years. Many of the folks in my section are older and are going to opt out. I would rather go when I can be with “my people” instead of some random pod.

Anyone know how many were in the arena last night? I know it was much less than the 2.5k or so they are allowed to have. It did not look like something I would really want to be a part of to be honest but again maybe that’s because they only had 100 people in the stands.

On the other hand, at least parking will be a non-factor.

I honestly think I would enjoy just going and watching with nobody there. I enjoy the atmosphere of a full arena, but I also think I'd like hearing more and watching the game devoid of the extras.

200, the mentioned it on the broadcast. It was friends and family of players, and some area first responders who were being rewarded.

Well, I waited til the last minute to decide but I made it official today. I'm rolling my funds over to the 2021-22 season. I hope it's the wrong move entirely, everything goes back to normal and I rue the decision when my team raises the Cup in Bridgestone.

But I'm not holding my breath on that. Or...maybe I am in this case. Ha!

With the 2020-21 Predators season underway, the Loyal Legion is sorely missed inside Bridgestone Arena. We are excited to announce that a limited number of tickets will be made available for purchase exclusively to our Season-Ticket Citizens through a lottery system for games on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 27 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks at Bridgestone Arena!

To operate within the parameters of our Smashville Safe health and safety protocols and offer all Season-Ticket Citizens the opportunity to experience live hockey this season, tickets will be sold in seating pods with two seats in each pod. Games and seating locations are subject to availability. Each Season-Ticket Citizen selected via the lottery will have the option to purchase tickets for either the Tuesday, Jan. 26 or the Wednesday, Jan. 27 game. As we work toward gradually increasing our crowd size, we hope to also increase the number of seats available within the seating pods.

Our goal is to create an exclusive and equitable opportunity for Season-Ticket Citizens to attend games during the 2020-21 season. To accomplish this, the lottery will be used to determine Season-Ticket Citizens’ access to purchase the limited number of physically distanced seating pods available for each game. Odds of winning will be weighted using four criteria:

  • Season-Ticket Citizen Tenure
  • Season-Ticket Package Type
  • Number of Season Tickets on Account
  • 2020-21 Seating Pod purchases by Loyal Legion Ticket Lottery winners
We will begin notifying winners via email on Friday, January 22.  After the notification, you will have an exclusive opportunity to log in to your MySmashvilleTix account within 24 hours and purchase two (2) tickets for one of the available home games. The odds of winning for lottery winners who purchase tickets will be reduced in immediately subsequent drawings until all Season-Ticket Citizens have won an opportunity to purchase tickets.

The more STH's that opt out on the 22nd increases my odds of going. And maybe to more than one game. I will keep y'all posted. Have fun if you decide to opt in! See you next season if you opt out.

I’m reading this as basically everyone is opted in for the lotto. You then get to decide if you want to buy. If you buy then odds of winning again will decrease and then gradually increase as more lottos go by where you don’t win.

Everyone else basically reading the same? Seems pretty fair really. I like it.

I like the system, but I don't think I need to go quite yet and I'd have been very tempted. I'd have had a very good chance of being in the first few groups. My ticket number is pretty low.

I have reached out to my rep to get an answer on this, but thought I would throw it out there- if you "opt in" to the lottery this season, does that have any effect on next season?? Our 3 year was up at end of last year and ordinarily we would have made a renewal decision last March- but of course the pandemic changed all of that.

Just wondering if opting in to the lottery means you are committing to renewing your tickets for next year.

I am sure the answer has to be no, but just trying to make sure

ticket purchase system is very straightforward, you can buy anywhere in the arena not just at your ST ticket level.

I bought 2 tickets to the game Tuesday. My regular seats didn't appear to be available so I got in 326 (or 325, I forget right now).

Pretty easy process to purchase.

The tickets that were available looked to be pretty socially distanced. Every other row and only a couple seats in each row.

I talked to my ticket rep and she said there are no parking passes this year (I kind of figured that, but asked anyway). They are just suggesting Music City Center to everyone.

Definitely no bags at all. No purses! Only a diaper bag for those with a baby.

Only about 700 fans for these 2 games.

I'm pretty excited to get back into the arena and watch live sports.

I'll be there Tuesday night as well. I tried to buy on Wednesday after buying on Tuesday but it wouldn't let me. I knew it probably wouldn't but figured I'd give it a try. Who knows, they may come back around to me before Wednesday though. Looking forward to attending a game since we stopped back in March.

I got an email this morning saying I'd be able to purchase for next week. Immediately I stopped what I was doing to sign in and still am not able to purchase anything. It says that I have no events available. Kinda wondering if something went wrong and it was supposed to have arrived to me yesterday? :(

Maybe they're just giving you a heads up that you're first in the pile for the next group of tickets but they haven't opened it up yet. Preds may want to see how things go next week and make any adjustments they need to before they release the tickets.

After a quick conversation with my rep, I figured out what the problem was and will be there this week. :)

They've opened up the arena to many more fans/STH's next month. All of the single seat tickets appear to be gone to make room for larger pods. It also looks like you can buy more than one game this time around. Happy shopping all.

I had occasion to look up something on NP.com...and it has changed! While looking through I saw the list of people associated with the Preds and did not see Nat Harden's name. He was my first assigned ticket rep* and has been with the Preds as long as I can remember. I haven't heard anything about him leaving.

*First rep was technically the Director of Marketing (Brian Campbell) because we were doing animation work for the team in partial exchange.
