Actually, the best thing about him in the lineup (excluding the two goals, since he could certainly go another 100 games before he scores again) is that the coach doesn't try to put him in situations where he is bound to fail. Last night, even in a 5-0 game, he played just over 6 minutes. When Gionta is in, he has average about 11:30 of ice time per game, including PK time. With Cam in (in lieu of Gionta), that's an extra 5-6 minutes/game that can be allotted to others (including some important PK time).

I am not suggesting that Cam is a better player than ... well ... almost anyone, but he is what he is and (when used) is used correctly. Gionta is what he is and gets put out there against the other team's top line, kills penalties, etc.

This is a good point. Pete had been using Cam just right. Keeping his minutes down and using him situationally and it's working. Brings the energy and gets the hell out of there.

No one suddenly thinks cam is some good hockey player now but it's undeniable he has added some great energy and fire back into the team. Credit where credit is due.

Not doing a justice to Cam Janssen if you bring up any player in the same sentence unless that players is Charlie Conway or Gordon Bombay

This guy?

Or am I thinking of the wrong Bombay? :sarcasm:

Islanders and Oilers would look tempting.

hope Schneider has as much loyalty as VAN fans say

He has to know that he will have a good thing going here. Schneider is clearly an intelligent guy. It cannot have escaped his notice that the Devils are good to their goalies and really don't have a guy in the system who will steal his job any time soon.

Let's just hope he doesn't get homesick.

Never mind, I forgot that the Bruins have Rask signed long-term. So we shouldn't have to worry about that angle.

Schneider is going to be sought after by many East teams, so it won't be an easy sign.

If he doesn't want to stay here next year, hopefully Lou gets the memo and gets rid of him.

I think in order to keep Schneider we have to start winning. If we turn it around and can make the playoffs this year, I think there's a very good chance Lou might be able to get him re signed sometime this Summer.

We keep losing this year and we lose next year, he's likely gone IMO.

I mean the guy has already come out and said he hasn't experienced this losing before.

There have been at least 3 games that he deserved to win, but we wound up losing.

First Vancouver game, Toronto game, and that embarrassing pathetic effort in Winnipeg when we were shutout by Nascar drive Juan Pablo Montoya.

He isn't use to it. Vancouver was always a top team when he was there. Now he when he does play games, he never winds up with a W. It has to be frustrating, especially the 3 games you mentioned.

Hopefully something turns for him.
