Dont forget about Petry. And soon Brossoit.

You know if you add up all the players the Oilers and their fans mis evaluated because the team was built and/or coached like crap we'd have all our glaring holes filled right now.

Oh don't forget about Pitlick. His 27 points and 80 games played would have been dandy on our bottom 6 last year, but of course, he's injury prone and will always be.
 You almost can't face palm this hard enough.

Petry was a mistake by the organization, there isn't much argument other then it happened before the current management arrived.

Brossoit failed to be a dependable back-up, not like wasn't given a fair shake, failed as a back-up.

Pitlick was fine, could not stay health and last off season Dallas offered the player, who at that time had yet to play more then 60 games in a year as a pro, a 3 year contract, OF COURSE he was going to leave. The Oilers wouldn't have offered him that term, because they guy was never playing a full season.

You know when you present things without context as arguments or points, they're basically lies.

Pitlick and his 0 points in 7 games this season would totally help this team.

Talbot failed as a starter in the same year Brossoit failed as a backup. Know why? No goalie is going to succeed in the NHL behind an AHL defence. So why evaluate ANY goalie knowing you didn't give him the help they needed. Were icing Auvitu and Benning and an injured Sekera and an injured Klefbom in front of them and were supposed to know what we have in those goalies?

Yeh Oilers misevaluated the severity of Pitlicks injury prone-ness and let our best young bottom 6 player, who we drafted and patiently develop walk way to be successful on another team. Hey maybe when Pitlick is 35 and his productive career is at an end we can get him back after ala Brodziak.

Fact of the matter is GOOD gms make the tough calls, and they make them right. Every GM faces decisions like this? They need to ask themselves is it the player or the situation? Chia asked and answered both those questions with these players like past management asked with Petry and they were wrong.

Sample size. Bottom 6 player. He's an NHLer, we all knew this the year before he left if you were paying attention. But no worries, obviously has-beens that have ZERO chance to grow with the team in the future like Cammy and Jokinen we're the obvious solutions over Pitlick.
